I hate when the Cubs face a rookie just brought up...they always go like 6IP with 1 ER...

From CSN Cubs Insider:

Hammel (4-2, 2.82 ERA) made Chicago his No. 1 priority in free agency and has responded by putting up 69 strikeouts against seven walks in 67 innings, strengthening a rotation that has looked top-heavy with Jon Lester and Jake Arrieta.

This is either an inarticulate reporter or bullshit story. FA like Hammel don't have the luxury of "prioritizing" their destinations. They take what they can get. He might have had a preference to return

Fowler went 1-4, BB and 2 runs

will that temporarily squash the urge by Cubs fans to launch the black guy out of town?

Junior Lake has an aura of suck that affects everyone around him in the batting order.

According to my math, he hit it 25.3x farther than Junior Lake hit his ball.

Oh Addison, not smart. No reason Starlin would try to score there down by 3. You gotta know the situation.

So I turn the game off and it's 2-1 Cubs.

Glad I missed this one.

Correct, Starlin would have been staring at the lights wondering how they turn them on.

Please don't turn into another dumb Cubs fan.

Criticize Starlin when he actually makes a mistake. In fact, correctly criticize each player when there is a reason, and give each player credit when it is due.

I'm surprised he is so inconsistent. He also has made some gaffs on the field but it's a long season.I think he will get better.

He's 9th in WAR for CFs.

Do people think every team has Mike Trout or Andrew McCutchen manning center?!?!?!? WTF

I have noticed this new attitude by many fans across many sports. The is that closer to a championship thing.

And the Cubs recent history in center field isn't very good. Fowler, by comparison, is a stud.

I'm fine with Fowler in CF. Cogohlin or however you spell his name has to go! I am tired of hearing how hard he hits the ball and oh nice swing by Cog and then see a can of corn in the OF. Keep Bryant in LF when Solar returns and bring up Baez.

I'm tired of people complaining about Solar as well. He is hitting .270 and has shown some nice power for a rookie. Yes, he strikes out alot, but again he is hitting .270. You know who else strikes out alot G.Stanton and he is hitting .240 Not saying he is a good as Stanton, but don't write this guy off just yet. I am happy with his production so far and am pretty confident he will be an All-Star in a couple years.

Use OPS.

Also, Coghlan and Soler.

Well he wasn't helped out much by yet another lackadaisical play by Castro. They have to figure out a way to get Russell over to SS.
