I'm just saying that you should get ready for more defensive lapses from them as they play a more high-stakes game. Conversely, I doubt they'll be held to one goal again.

See above.

:? He's right.

Does not matter. The Hawks sat back and waited for their time. So as to not make the odd man breaks by being too aggressive. Do you think there just happened to be 2 defensemen deep every time instead of pinching up and pushing by accident?

I don't think the Hawks waited until midway thru 3 to make their move, no.

I meant to comment on this earlier in the game, but it was great seeing people with hawks gear right behind Tampas bench

Wow. Jon Cooper looks like a guy OUT OF IDEAS in his post game interview. He sounds like he has no idea what just happened.
Maybe he's just missing his "H".

Cooper was completely pantsed by Q tonight. Q went to school on the Bolts for 30 minutes. Q & the Hawks have a knack for making a team change the way they play & Tampa Bay tried playing a style that is foreign to them. The Bolts are a speed & skill team that scores a lot. They aren't the type of team to go into a shell & try to protect a 1-0 lead...but thats exactly what they did. Cooper is afraid that if he opens it up, the Hawks might put 5 on the board, & he's right because Bishop let the Rangers score 5+ goals in 3 games in their series.
I told my Wife with about 10 minutes left in the 3rd that we know how this game ends...with 2 late goals & the Hawks win.
If Crawford continues his great play & Cooper continues to coach like he did in game 1, get out the brooms.

There were 2 qualifiers to my statement & I stand by them. If Cro continues to stand on his head & Cooper continues to coach like he did in game 1, Tampa might not win a game. Hell is no longer serving breakfast!

I skimmed but I couldn't really find anything abhorrent about anything CH has posted so far.

I think he found a seat on the bandwagon...but he doesn't like it. The rest of the bandwagoners are harassing him.

The Hawks were very fortunate to escape with a win in Game 1. Firing 13 SOG through 2 periods was piss poor. Lightning won't be playing prevent anymore this series. No doubt they're going to be recklessly skating, pinching, and checking like in period 1 where they owned the Hawks. Hedman is developed into such a beast. His reach frustrated the Hawks so many times last night.

Game 2 is going to be a ugly.

However, Bolts forward depth is just horrible. Those 3rd and 4th lines are miserable. I think Hawks will be OK.

Tried looking it up and couldn't find it. Has a home team ever lost the first 2 and gone on to win series?

He played well. Had a couple of really nice saves. Probably should have gotten that one though. Still don't like him much or trust him completely.

He should have gotten the one he let in? Crawford? Are you serious? That was a crazy re-direct.

I just re-watched the goal. I have been a big Crow detractor mainly because of his salary. My goodness he was money last night. And no one stops that goal. I'll go away now. I have no right to an opinion on the Hawks anyway because I have been flat wrong most of the year.

Yes I'm serious. It was crazy a crazy redirect. Crawford was down long before the initial shot/pass. It wasn't even super fast but I felt he's was more caught off guard by the redirect. If he were up and moving toward the post he probably would have gotten it.

Pretty much. He has success I just don't like his style of play. I feel he is more lucky than skilled, his luck hasn't run out. I hope it doesn't but I don't have to like him. I find my self more relieved than confident in games.

That's fair. He has had a couple of memorable eggs in important games. His style really doesn't lend itself to a lot of 'spectacular' type saves that find their way on Sportscenter so I think that hurts his perception at times. He's a bigger guy that 100% relies on being positionally sound.

That said, he's about to be a 2x Cup Winner.

This game reminded me of game 1 in 1992. Hawks on the road vs a far superior Pittsburgh team, Hawks had them on the ropes on game 1 only to let the Pens come back late and win it. Series was pretty much over at that point as you just knew that game 1 was the Hawks one chance to steal one and make it a series. Losing it you just knew it was over.

Same could be said for last night only the roles were reversed.
