It does look really cool on the commercials. I never saw the original so I'd be heading into this one completely open minded.

It was ehhhhhhhhhh decent

Glad I saw it, don't need to see it again.

If you are going to see it, go to a theater. A lot of what makes it entertaining will be lost watching it at home

I should be going to see it either tonight or tomorrow. How do you all rate this compared to the other three?

My opinion from best to worst:

The Road Warrior
Mad Max
Thunderdome

Hard to pick between the first two. I mean the Road Warrior is better, but I'm always amazed by how good Mad Max is despite how little money they had. They were paying stunt men with cases of beer. Thunderdome is kinda Return of the Jedi-ish. Some really cool and iconic parts brought down by unnecessary kiddie shit.

This was my reaction seeing it last weekend...certainly don't feel cheated in the least, but it's not the sort of thing I feel like going out of my way to watch again.

I saw it last night, and thought it was visually cool, but pretty one-dimensional (probably expected for a Mad Max movie). I was struck by how little actual dialog takes place. Seems like Tom Hardy had about 10 lines.

I didn't like the score for the movie. And Hardy just didn't feel right. He wasn't bad but he was no Mel. Otherwise it was pure manic fun.

Huh, thought I posted in this thread.

If I hadn't known that the special effects were almost all "legit" (non-CGI), I don't think I would've enjoyed watching it nearly as much. That said it was definitely made to be seen in a theater as loud as possible on as big a screen as possible.

Just saw this over the weekend. Loved it. Best movie I've seen in a while. Was able to watch it all in one sitting, something I rarely do these days with movies. This movie was 2 hours of non stop action. And it wasn't just 2 hours of blowing shit up, the action was well choreographed and kept adding new elements to it which kept it interesting.

This was as entertaining a movie as I've seen in a very long time.

It was a spectacle but hardly what I would call a great movie

This was one of the worst movies I've watched start to finish in recent memory, Spring Breakers with James Franco was the only other piece of crap that was worse. I wanted to shut it off 15 minutes in when the guy in long johns is playing guitar on front of the rig with walls of speakers behind him..I stuck with it because I'm a tom hardy guy..big mistake..this movie blows, anyone could have played Hardy's rile..he don't really speak and there ain't a plot..dont waste your time on this horseshit..no surprise its on HBO this fast.

Watched this last weekend as I saw it finally made HBO. I thought visually and conceptually it was pretty awesome. Great stunts and cinematography.
Having not seen any of the other movies I had zero reference to any past or present story, which was severely lacking in my opinion.

Yeah your (312) opinion is terrible. It's literally the top movie of 2015 on Rotten Tomatoes.

I'm mostly in agreement with 312. If the Academy wants to give it props for cinematography and costumes, great. The rest of it was WEAK.

Which parts were weak? I'm genuinely curious.
