at a much more valued position

I guess he didn't hit an inside pitch in his first week so he isn't worthy of being slathered with praise

Not me! One of the greatest games I've ever seen. After former Cub Great Hee Sop Choi couldn't handle a foul pop, AJ hit that two strike walk-off homer in the bottom of a four run ninth on the way to the World Series! Hey Cub fans, what are your favorite moments on the way to your World Series?

Dont forget to buy your tickets to a night with the 2005 White Sox on stage at the Chicago Theater, telling their own versions of how things went.

http://www.thechicagotheatre.com/events/2015/july/a-season-to-remember-at-the-chicago-theatre.html

Ticket prices vary, ranging from $40 to $70 for balcony and $50 to $70 for lower level. VIP tickets are available for $250 and include a reception with event participants, a photo opportunity with the World Series trophy and catered food and beverage for the duration of the event in a private mezzanine-level booth.

My favorite moment is "Merkle's Boner" A baserunning mistake committed by rookie Fred Merkle of the New York Giants against the Chicago Cubs in 1908. Merkle's failure to advance to second base on what should have been a game-winning hit led instead to a forceout at second and a tied game. The Cubs later won the makeup game, which proved decisive as they beat the Giants by one game to win the National League pennant in 1908!!!! :bom: :drunken: :bom: :?

It'll probably be better attended than their next home game.

The funny thing is that the Cub drought should actually be a year longer. It wasn't really a boner at all. The umpire ignored the custom of the day at the behest of Johnny Evers.

Probably something practical like the car, or indoor plumbing.

I am glad he is doing well. I watch both teams, and I would much rather watch Rondon and Sale than Danks. Stars are what makes a game worth watching. It's nice that both teams have some talent to talk about.

Dennis, you will have to update the class somewhere about your baseball/Vegas trip.

First off, DC was awesome. The park is very well done, and the entire neighborhood looks new. There were cranes everywhere, and the redevelopment of the area excellent. I would reasonably say the stadium was about 1/3 Cubs fans both days.

Vegas was the usual full day getting drunk at the pool, winning all my sports book bets but for the Blackhawks, meeting lots of "interesting" people, friends in the group passing out for 18 hours at a time followed by staying awake for two days straight, and plenty of bad beats at the poker table. I will say, Hash House breakfast place is solid. They have one down on Division in Chicago. I also ate at Guy Fieri's, and that was good too. Both are inside Linq.

Highlight of the Vegas leg was calling these Canadian chicks who were into my friend. When they picked up the phone, it sounded like jungle noises going off inside their room.

Sounds great. Also good to see Guy Fieri's place can be enjoyed and not just shit on as most food snobs seem to do.

Hey! With the rich and delicious foods we serve at my establishments it's not surprising that people might need to shit after dining on one of our heapingly abundant entrees. However, we do provide spacious restroom facilities so no one has to shit on the actual restaurant.

Yep why waste your number 3 overall pick when you can get the same thing in the second round....

This Vincent Velasquez is shovin' in his first MLB start.
