My favorite moment is "Merkle's Boner" A baserunning mistake committed by rookie Fred Merkle of the New York Giants against the Chicago Cubs in 1908. Merkle's failure to advance to second base on what should have been a game-winning hit led instead to a forceout at second and a tied game. The Cubs later won the makeup game, which proved decisive as they beat the Giants by one game to win the National League pennant in 1908!!!!

It'll probably be better attended than their next home game.

First off, DC was awesome. The park is very well done, and the entire neighborhood looks new. There were cranes everywhere, and the redevelopment of the area excellent. I would reasonably say the stadium was about 1/3 Cubs fans both days.

Vegas was the usual full day getting drunk at the pool, winning all my sports book bets but for the Blackhawks, meeting lots of "interesting" people, friends in the group passing out for 18 hours at a time followed by staying awake for two days straight, and plenty of bad beats at the poker table. I will say, Hash House breakfast place is solid. They have one down on Division in Chicago. I also ate at Guy Fieri's, and that was good too. Both are inside Linq.

Highlight of the Vegas leg was calling these Canadian chicks who were into my friend. When they picked up the phone, it sounded like jungle noises going off inside their room.
