How long was Bernstein an actual beat report for both the Bulls and Bears? Judging by the experiences he has had, it sounds like he's been a veteran reporter of at least a decade.

I thought it was, at best, a few years combined for both and he didn't travel with either team, but I could be mistaken.

Joined the Score in '95, full-time host by '99, so no more than four years on the beat.

NEVER traveled as far as I recall in that mode. He was told to hang out at Halas or Berto or whatever and call the HFC at 5:30ish. And of course close shouting THE SCORE!

Remember that BernSTINE was also the only reporter in Chicago to actually "go after" Wanny during his stint as Bears H.C. He was all over the Bears and Wanny, went really hard after them. Hard hitting questions, solid follow ups, body blows, never letting them breath. It was remarkable.
