Yes. Every guy in this forum who is not a Cub fan. How's that for a start? Now you can go back to fantasizing about how all your Babe Ruth clones are going to finally win you multiple championships. Hell, Cub fan spmack is talking to some broad on Twitter right now and they're deciding what they're going to wear to the inevitable Cub celebration at Clark and Addison. Unfortunately, spmack couldn't describe his outfit in 140 characters.

Have a feeling no Sox fan would tke my 3 year bet now.......I would even let them throw out the 1st half of this season and go from the All Star Break.

C'mon bigfan. Don't be like the 2015 Chicago Cubs and pile on when you're already ahead by so much,

biggie, you really shouldn't have pruned Frank. This would be a fantastic time to have him on the board now.

IMU, you must be wearing diapers at work these days from all the persistent lower body leakage in response to Schwarber's game last night. Drip drip.

I am reserving all of my bodily fluids for the torrid pace Castro's second half will set for the club.

I'm guessing .800 OPS in the second half.

I never thought the self-loathing Cubs stalkers would create a bigger Boogie Man than they had with Bryant but it appears Schwarber may have done that.
The only reason they might be even more invested in Hulks (that will annoy them to no end) demise is the fact that they could of had him and passed.

No, the Schwarber criticism came from the out of slot of drafting. It was smart by the Cubs to draft out of slot to then have extra money to sign other guys. But it violates the theory of drafting the best player on the board. I understand where Sox fans like Jorr were coming from, but I applaud the Cubs for being creative in generating extra bonus money to draft and sign otherwise unsignable players.

I am not saying that. He was not the best player on the board he was drafted. I have done zero research as to where he stands relative to others in that draft. Now he was a polished college player, so it may be unfair to compare him to high school kids drafted at the same time. They are younger and require much more development.

Dennis...we don't know who the best player is. We rely on mock drafts and publicly available scouting reports. Teams have armies full of scouts that prepare private, in-house scouting reports.

The Cubs brass might have identified Schwarber as the fourth best player in the draft AND knew they could sign him under slot considering he and his agent were looking at mock drafts.

I looked up the articles, they said he was their #2. I believe most experts had him just outside the top 10.

In any case, it doesn't matter. He appears to be a major league hitter. Of course, the big concern is whether he has a position on a national league team.

LF...we will live with Bryant at 3B....need Baez to work out at SS....If he can bat .240 like Star, with twice as much power...and much better defense....Baez has the power, the BA is a low bar...

I'd be more overjoyed if 2-3-4 had more than one single and a walk in 12 PA. Cubs were +121 last night and I gave the pick as a lock to one of my colleagues.

the way the ball flies off the bat is like him but Bagwell had a very tight, aggressive stance. Kyle looks loose at the plate and he sets up way off the plate, which mystifies me a bit. They were starting to try and get him out on outside pitches by the end of the night.

That is a good point. With Castro's BA being so low, what does he really have on Baez? Baez has the better defense, more power and speed. Now with the batting averages both being low, might as well go with Baez and enjoy greater run production and defense.
