Ben Hogan. Power Golf is a tremendous book.

I loved Darryl Strawberry's swing, with the big leg lift.

Wall ball? Kingman, Dale Murphy, Schmidt, Strawberry, Silent George.

In organized ball, nobody.

It was always fun to pretend to be Jerry Morales.

Chet Lemon, Schmidt, Carew, Morgan, Stargell. I would bat lefty every once in a while in wiffle ball only.

Topics like this and Lob Ball have really brought back some great memories. Thanks, gents.

Dave Parker and Steve Garvey were 2 more. Always liked doing the ones with an exaggerated stance like Carew or Cooper.

Someone said Jerry Morales. That was good. Just hold the bat straight up in the air, if I remember correctly.

Everyone at some point. John Kruk was one of my favorites to mess around with. I was a huge Bonds and Frank Thomas fan though.

Craig Biggio is the first one that came to mind. I probably pretended I could be a power hitter at other times.

He hit a ton of line drives. I think he still is one of the best CF over the past 40 years or so fr the Cubs. Very underrated.

Watching old Cubs games on YouTube, Jimmy, and Morales always was getting a hit.

Come on, every old guy emulated Joe Morgan at least once.

I'm sure his daughters have thoughts on this.

Early on it was Billy Williams (I had his glove too). Later it was Bobby Mercer.a

I could imitate Pops routine perfectly from the left side. Still can.

Those were great times. Monday night baseball was an event, as was the Saturday game of the week. It was the only time you got to see a game played that didn't involve the Cub or the Sox. This Week in Baseball was appointment TV every Saturday. Good times, indeed.

Gary Matthews from right side and Willie Stargell from the left. Yes I was a switch hitter.

The Allstar game was special back then, as well. You got to see players you may have only read about. We, as Chicago area viewers, were spoiled. We got to watch both leagues on a regular basis. Other markets weren't so lucky. It's kinda funny to think back on how things were back in the day. These nostalgic threads are perfect for Father's Day reflection. Thanks guys.

That was back when the All Star game was an event.
