Anyone heard CranKen on with Bruce yesterday tacking on a 6th year to his rehab plan? Claims he found some bad steel and bad soil....Crane, did you do soil bearings before you started building? and even without such bearing, if you even spoke to any of the local guys that do Excavation, they can pretty much tell you whats down there in a certain area. Nice work buddy.

Then my favorite was when he compared it to redoing a kitchen....lol....which, I am just guessing he felt was enough for him to be in charge of the project.

Having dug down in my Grandparents yard on Clark St. years ago, I discovered that you don't have to dig down all that far before you hit sand! My Grampa told me that the lake extended much further West years ago.

Bingo, then clay and anyone who digs all the time around here knows that.

Would have been easier to throw them into the river with a manhole cover chained to their feet.

Many that is true, but an incomplete statement.

I thought the title of this thread referred to waiting one more year to truly contend. Had that been the focus of the thread, I would have been in agreement. I see the Cubs adding another top of the rotation starter (David Price?) this coming off season, to go with Lester and Arrieta. With the experience the youngsters will have gotten this year, and perhaps having Schwarber find his way onto the roster....the team should be ready to contend. One more year to complete the ballpark renovations......so what? I'm more concerned with the product on the field.

Repped by Boras, I believe he's arbitration eligible this offseason and a free agent in 2017.
