Montero started the #wearegood dealio last week. Cubs twitter obviously caught on quickly and pushing the tag. The other players seem to like it and are using it frequently.

I like the motto better than this year's "Let's Go!". Nothing wrong with being a little brash. Though, the backfire potential is quite large.

And, of course, Lester has not earned the privilege to use the tag in his tweets...yet.

Zambrano? Apparently the only clip on youtube of Zambrano saying "We stinks" is part of this lame parody:

Kirkwood is going to pretend he doesn't know this as it was a Packer

"I am suck"...it was that cornerback from FSU who was going to be the next Deion Sanders

I know marketing departments need plans and to pay other marketing experts to come up with such things as "LETS GO" or "CUB WAY" or "SOX PRIDE", but it really is so much easier and effective when the catch phrase is developed naturally by the players and they promote it first. I always look back to one of the better marketing ploys in sports, the 1979 Pirates, WE ARE FAMILY. Came from the players and the front office ran with it....it put Steve "stan" Schanawald on the map, he gets a job with the Bulls....then this #23 guy came along and you could sell ad space inside a urinal for big money during his tenure!

Which grindy White Sox player decided to adopt a Journey song as their rallying cry?

And when I write "White Sox", I mean Sox player who is white.

Thank you for pointing out a big pet peeve of mine. Sports team season slogans are the worst. I hope no one is actually getting paid to come up with "Our town. Our team." for the millionth time.

Didn't know that about the Bulls guy. Interesting.

i'll dust this one off temporarily.

cubs pythag record is 33-30 and baseruns record is 34-29. that's solid wild card performance.

on a semi-related note, you know #imabadass is going to catch fire in twitter cubbie world.

Thought of this last Sunday when Cubs were playing Sunday night BB on ESPN. Rizzo & Bryant were being interviewed early in the day and Rizzo had on a "We are Good" sweatshirt. What I found comical was the first "O" in the word good was actually the cubs-head-bear-face (whatever) logo. So basically....I read it as...

We are God !!

#WeAreGood

#WeAreGod

ha ha

I thought it was Joe Crede?

It's fun but not obnoxious. I'm a Sox fan and could care less. the Sox suck this year and that has nothing to do with the Cubs. I've heard worse come out of the Cubs fanbase and organization.

Knock this shit off. "Don't Stop Believin'" is non-ironically a great song. Not even A.J. Pierzynski can ruin it.
