funny, that when Dan was a beat reporter, he didnt have a source for the Bears, but then he leaves Halas Hall and is "IN".

I seem to remember Terry putting out some BS 'source' on something a few years ago...then Danny tried to confirm it and claimed he has the same thing.

and it never happened.....

Now, everything is a SCOOP from a SOURCE. Its too bad thats the way that show went, but its time to replace it.

I dunno, but I noticed he started getting peckerslapped for dumb crap after I started saying "Bernstein always wins."

It seems that every Bernstein "scoop" starts just like this...

"I'm told by someone close to the situation..."

If it turns out to be true?.. Your "guy" has instant cred.

I dont fight it, its over for me, they just have a contract now. Question is, will Terry retire...which I think would be crazy...bring Matty into the show and do your ISDN show...someone is willing to pay you 6 figures for talking on an ISDN from house...you keep that job forever.

but, maybe it was the Jauron firing? Terry had the Scoop...2 years before it happened....LOL....and they kept on it, they it happened and it was "Yeah, I knew"

I would like to predict the death of Ginny McBearSkey ...this from my sources!

I think it started when Boers said "I had it on my answering machine" hours before the Cutler to the Bears news broke.

I think it hit Bernstein at that point, as he knew Terry was full of shit. Bernstein said to himself "I'm gonna lie about shit now". Then Goff told a few lies. Then drinky told a few lies. TEAM BERNSTEIN!!!!!

Wasn't that when Terry offhandedly said that "his guy" said that Lovie was going to get a 2-year contract extension and the station ran with it, cutting promos that said "The Score's Terry Boers is reporting..."?

Yeah, no. If it was over for you, you wouldn't post about it. It's not complicated.

I rarely listen to B&B these days, but IIRC, B&B used the 'sources' as way to taunt Murph. He had a morning drive show (which was #1 I believe, but I digress) and his 'shtick' was that he didn't have any sources. He never went into a locker room. He didn't have a press pass. He was just an ordinary sports fan with no special sources, no connections and also no obligations.

B&B, to mock Murph, would make references to their locker room sources.

I thought it was when drinky displayed his sources with the Cutler injury. It doesn't look good if drinky has sources and Dan does not.

People close to the situation tell me Dan has no idea what's going on with Jimmy Butler and D Rose.

My source is a closely held secret

It goes back a bit further than that.

The first "sourced" scoop from Boers that I remember, was his report that the Bears were in advanced trade talks with the 49ers regarding David Terrell. It was "imminent" according to Boers. I believe the Bear were to receive an OL in return for Terrell. Of course nothing came of it and it was just written off as "well something must've happened at the last minute to derail this thing."

2013 was a banner year, relatively speaking, for ad revenue for radio. 2014? not so much.

Ad revenue for radio fell 10% around Chicago radio in 2014 vs 2013.

2013 may well have been a dead cat bounce year---as advertisers moved away from desktop browser focused banner ads that year but had yet to fully ramp up in the mobile web space. The latter mostly due to content providers on the web being slow to develop mobile platforms. Advertisers had the dollars to spend; the new platforms weren't sufficiently developed to absorb all the spending and so it bled back into legacy media.

Chances are, radio's heading for double digit revenue falls going forward--same as newspapers have been experiencing for the last decade.

radio stations aren't going to increase listeners/earballs via organic growth in the radio audience. Younger folks have little to no interest in radio. 'Bout all a radio station can do going forward is try to capture a larger portion of a shrinking pie.

Or swap out high-dollar on-air talent for lower cost jocks and/or computer driven content.

I don't know how Bernstein kept his job after saying that the Bears were actively trying to trade Jay Cutler, that it had gone to a "new level of intensity", while Cutler was personally involved in trying to get Eddie Royal to come to the Bears.

The show lost all credibility for me after that lie. The Bears never had any intention of trading Cutler.

I dont know if he said that EXACTLY which is the whole basis for him being a pussy. he then denies it...or takes credit for it....on top of it...its all BS.

A new GM, a New head coach and an overpaid QB who has thrown many ints....anyone shocked they would look to see of there is a deal for him to be moved?

Dan: I'm hearing rumblings from Halas hall, people close to the situation, that the Bears may be looking to move Jay Cutler. Nothing's for certain, but I've heard that they're entertaining the possibilities, they might start scanning the market to see what options are available to them. They've gotta get the right offer in order to make the deal, and if they can't get what they want in return they won't do it, but I'm hearing that they may start considering their options for the future at the quarterback postion. Again, nothing's for certain but I wouldn't be surprised if we heard something in the next six to eight weeks. Of course I won't be surprised if we don't hear anything, its possible that they don't get an offer they like, but I won't be too surprised if they do move him, somewhere down the line.

Terry: Yeah, uh, ya know, I've uh... I've been... yeah, there've been some... some rumblings for a while now. Just little things here and there and um... ya know the thing about that is, with that guy and all the things that come with, with him and, ya know it's not just the interceptions, its the attitude and his whole... he's just not... you can't run a team like that! And the wife is just... oof, boy I mean, she is somethin' isn't she? With the, the, her weird thing about...

Dan: Yeah the vaccination stuff is really just...

Terry: Dude! I mean, dude! Come on already!

Dan: Yeah there's just some really bad stuff on and off the field that, let's just say there are loud voices at Halas that wouldn't mind a culture change in that locker room. If it's this season, next season, or maybe five years down the road, I just don't see Jay staying there long term and if the team can get something back for him this season...

Terry: Yeah, I agree. I agree.

I actually think Dan has to call Terry every morning and tell Terry what his opinioins and thoughts for the day will be.

Dan: Good morning Terry. Ok, here's what your thoughts will be on Jay Cutler.
Terry: OK got it.
Dan: And here's your thoughts on.........
Terry: OK got it.
