Bought a day old loaf of bread from Jimmy John's for 50 cents because I'm a baller on a budget.

It's excellent. The 50 cent loaf is a foot and a half. Spread my homemade tuna salad on it with pepper jack cheese.

Grape is my choice. Loved strawberries, but do not like strawberry jelly.

Grape jelly is for kids, strawberry is for adults (and kids if they like it).

Strawberry preserves are the way to go.

My Daughter returned from college yesterday...for good. As anyone with kids in college can attest to, their first week back all they want to do is go out to eat at all the great joints that they dont have at school. She has lunch planned for the rest of the week. Today was Yu's Mandarin, tomorrow is Portillos, Thursday is Jaliscos Tacos, and Friday is Skippys Gyros. So much for the diet this week!

Free fantasy football leagues are for kids as well. Guess we're equally immature, Shakes.

I had a meeting this morning at the Union League Club of Chicago in the city (Clubman still available in the mens room!), & afterwards we went to Beatrix on N. Clark St. Very unique, original & fresh menu items.

A dozen Krispy Kreme donuts.

Well, Popeyes, I guess. But I stopped at the EGV Krispy Kreme in celebration of that fact that they will once again have a Chicagoland presence outside of the NW burbs.

Did you get a hot fresh donut for buying a dozen?

Not sure if there is a joke / euphemism there or not.

If not, the "originals" were all hot / fresh. The chocolate iced donuts still tasted fresh, but were room temperature. I was the only person in the drive-thru. The parking lot was pretty full.

I was never a big Krispy Kreme guy at the height of their popularity. I don't know how often they cook batches throughout the day. The sign out front was not lit up, so I was not expecting warm donuts.

Dead serious, if you order a dozen and ask they will give you a hot fresh donut. That is, if the hot light is on.
