Lester got the double play ground ball. You cant put that on him and give Lackey credit for the same thing. Its not like Lackey pitched over an error.

So just last week best manager in the galaxy on The Purps and Slappy show says they have metrics showing the Cubs would score 10 more runs a year with Fowler as the lead off guy opposed to anyone else on the team and thats why they haven't moved him down despite his struggles. Here we are a week later and he's batting 7th. Guess the metrics changed.

Its hard to rage. I know they're still a year or probably 2 away. They aren't good enough yet to compete with the big dogs. Reminds of the early Toews and Kane years with the Blackhawks( before they became overpaid greedy fucks mind you) with Detroit. You could see they were on the come but still not quite there yet to consistently beat them.

I'm not raging at all. This year so far has been a pleasant surprise. It's been nice to turn on the game on any given day and they can win. That's not been the case over the last 5 years.

I think the fashion the Cubs have found ways to lose to the Cardinals this season is what makes me go over the top meatball. Everytime I think the Cubs got these guys, just for even one game, it all goes to shit in the blink of an eye. I guess as a Cubs fan I could be grateful that the team is in a position to make me give a shit so much again but at the same time I feel cursed. Them purposely sucking for a few years was easier on my physical and mental health. This franchise is going to kill me one day.
