Lester has now pitched two games in a row of 7ip 0er and hes gonna be 0-1 to show for it. Perfect example if how pitching wins can be deceiving (still a valuable stat over a career)

Lester is same as he ever was. Run support matrers no matter how much you want to discount it.

Its a fact. Pitchers who get more support are more likely to win.

Castro needs to go ASAP. The hombre had one task. Put the ball in the AIR. Instead the goof shoots the ball on the ground (as usual). Boom, double play.

He possesses zero baseball IQ. Zero situational awareness.

Castro is an anchor on this team. Once he get ditched the Cubs will excel.

The 1-run close game mirages the Cubs have been squeaking by with doesn't work against good teams.

Those teams are competent and don't shoot themselves in the foot. They make sure to take advantage when an opportunity arises.

The Cards where they had 1 opportunity to score and they crossed 2. The Cubs OTOH strike out and then DP.

Those mistakes weren't a "young" team excuse. Miggy and Castro are vets. At least with Miggy you could see he was trying to put the ball in the air. Castro who the fuck knows what his plan at the plate was.

I thought of JORR this morning as I listened to Rozner gush over Lester's "superb" and "sterling" performance yesterday. No, he didn't suck, and his two runs allowed were scored as unearned, but he didn't make the pitches he needed to in crunch time.

Lester gets literally zero blame for the loss, you guys are just nitpicking here. Bryant sissy armed the inning ending double play into the outfield.

Don't even try the double play there. There was no chance to turn it. Slowly hit and Heyward was running.

Maybe you take your time and throw to second for the force since Peralta was on first, if you had a better defensive third baseman.

I consider W/L to be more important from my front line pitchers. You pray 4-5 SP can keep it close. You expect your 2-3 SP to be competitive every night. You demand your 1 SP wins games on his own.
