"The Cubs Way" is stupid marketing speak. Marketing speak should be disregarded as bullshit whenever possible.

I believe they're top 5 in pitches seen per plate appearance. At one point they were 1st overall.

That was a tenet of Theo team-building in Boston as well.

You're welcome.

That must have been a very short book.

Positional flexibility.

Notice how Baez/Russel/Schwarber/Bryant/Alcantara have all been groomed to play multiple positions.

They drafted a catcher in Zagunis who now plays center field. Ian Happ is apparently able to man both the infield and outfield.

You're welcome.

Suspect defense on everyone except Baez and possibly Russell.

I can "play" every position on a baseball diamond as well.

When I see Bryant at 3B or Schwarber at Catcher or Alcantara in CF...I'm not so sure I believe in the Cubs Way.

Well if time is of the essence, fire at will!

Give me your thoughts on the whole hugging situation that occurs between Brandon Hyde and Rizzo whenever Anthony reaches first base. Do you think that was organic, or something Theo & Co. mandated? Maybe Dascenzo refused and that's why he's a roving instructor instead of coaching in the bigs?

It's just the times we live in. If it was the 60s, Rizzo would stand at first with his fist raised. If it was the 70s he'd do a little twirl and dip when he reached the base. If it was the 80s, he'd snort the line from home to first. But we are in the 10s and conventions have a man hugging another man.

If you don't have a set of two or three bros you hug on the reg, you need better friends.

The fact that you say this highlights your issue.

Alex Gonzalez fucked up. Mark Prior fucked up. Dusty Baker fucked up.

If Steve Bartman "caused" those guys to have the problems they ended up having, then they didn't have the constitution to win big games and a World Series was unlikely.

All true IMU. Good job.

Jimmy I'm with you and have been from the first moment that dipshit reached for the ball. He of course didn't deserve the derision that was wrought upon him from countless idiots, but he's a dumbass for reaching for the ball pure, plain, and simple.

That said, it wasn't his fault they lost in any way ... the schmucks on the field were five outs away and dribbled it down their legs without so much as a whimper.

I agree with that, the only thing I ever felt from the moment it happened is if Alou makes the catch, maybe Gonzo isn't in a hurry to field that faithful grounder. On another note,if it wasn't so damn sad,it's pretty funny. Bartman looks like he was cast as the dork that kept the Cubs from winning by God.

I would guess that my oldest friendship is older than you. The next oldest one is about as old as you. People can't get enough of the dolphin

I'd hope it is. And I'd also hope you get those bro hugs on the reg.
