They signed him to add to the rotation. Jon Lester is Jon Lester. He's not Randy Johnson or Chris Sale or Felix. Yes, you should lower your expectations if you expect him to be that kind of pitcher.

Lester is in the second tier with Cole Hammels, Jordan Zimmerman, Lance Lynn etc

This Cub offense is so damn frustrating. It's amazing how the bullpen has turned it around while the hitting has tanked pretty hard. Coming into this season I was sure there would be a lot of softball style wins for the Cub, while the one run decisions and low scoring games would be few and far between.

Maybe it went over the base, but it would be the craziest spin ever on that ball. It bounced foul before and after the base. I don't believe it ever bounced in fair territory the entire time, did it?

But I was also talking about the fact that Matheny already went and talked to the umps on the field....and nobody mentions the fact that he needs another pitcher? It was clear he didn't know he got throw out.
