its weird, but in all my life these have been by FAR the best

http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-Pair-Merino-W ... 5677b32b18

i cant find them anywhere but ebay, and other similar ones just arent the same. you need to find these with that specific label design.

in general, i like merino wool the best... but again, these are crazy good. because theyre thick wool, theyre not the best for summer days but even in moderate temps where your feet sweat its not a big deal because these wick away. but even in moderate temps you can wear them because they really do allow your feet to breathe.

and these i linked to are the most durable things ive ever had. ive had mine for almost 2 years now, and none of them have developed holes. they are still soft too. just incredible socks... and they are generic label for a really good price considering they are merino wool

I am sure that "Wicking away" element is special.

I have Smartwools that look exactly like this. They are my winter work socks and they last forever. Very warm.

How is it that Darkside has not chimed in about this?

I'm VERY particular about my socks. I could never buy them on line. I have to feel them before buying to make sure I'd even wear them.

My favorite thick sock are the boot socks made by Timberland

That's too bad. I was never a big fan of "wool" but I found that to be cheaper wool. I have socks from Smartwool and a few merino wool sweaters from BR and they're all really comfortable.
