You say that as if he hasn't. He has been excellent when he is in the strike zone

Sox bunting home a run in the 6th when down 3. I don't get it.

Big win. I guess this team will never truly implode because Arrieta won't let them. The Mets aren't better than the Cubs so they won't take the 2nd wildcard spot and the Giants seem incapable of going on any kind of run but we will see. 2nd half will have it's ups and downs but it should be fun.

Another great game from Jake. I really need people to stop saying they would start Lester in the Wild Card game. There is only 1 guy on this roster you start in a Wild Card game. The offense was still a suckfest, but it was a win. Coming out of the break they have a nice schedule to end July to pick up W's. The Cubs have @ATL, @CIN, PHI, COL, and @MIL to end July. Should win all those series to set up a big August. August may decide this thing with series against SF, PIT, DET, LAD, and CWS.

After the last few years, meaningful baseball down the stretch is good enough for me. I really don't want them to do anything drastic as far as trades go, just yet. The young guys need more seasoning. Bryant has been solid but only against bad pitching. Good pitching gives him fits, same with Russell. I am fine with standing pat and waiting til next year. :D

I think this is true moreso for Russell than Bryant.

Bryant has overall been pretty solid. He has been in a little funk over the last few weeks, but even with that he is still hitting what .270 with 12 HRs and 50 RBIs. Dang good for a rookie. The league is making adjustments to him. He will adjust, learn and be even better. And he hit a HR off Kershaw, I think he might be a pretty good pitcher

Yeah looks like worst case they keep it interesting until September. Much better than being unwatchable by Mid-April.

One home run off a good pitcher doesn't change the overall trend. I do believe he will adjust as he matures. I really wish he wasn't in the home run derby. I think a few days away from baseball would do him a great deal of good.

I will wait for a full season to tell everyone they arent good.

I am really surprised 2 rookies are showing a downtrend towards the all star break, because usually they are batting well over .300 and getting better!!!

I wish Bryant did not make it. Break would do him well. HR derby is not going to help him at all.

Listen to B&B, they have repeatedly said that they can start Lester, Hammel, and Arrieta in a Wild Card game. Have talked about Lester still being the ace based off Danny's random stats. Was talked about heavily last week. Listening is a skill.

Pitching is also a skill. A skill that Lester is sorely lacking right now.

He'll be fine, however. Monetize contracts.

True. But I have hope this time it will end differently. Not this year but soon. Best chance ever IMO.
