I dont think lives were at risk. If I did, I certainly would have done something.

It's not really judgmental to say dont drink and drive with your kids. Getting a DUI with your 8 year old in the car would kinda suck.

I would think if there was noticeable speech impairment, then he was impaired.

Well I cant say for sure, he seemed ok. Some people have a few beers and their voice or dialect changes. Doesnt mean you're trashed.

But yeah, I typically maintain a stay out of other people's business policy with things like that, anyway (excepting the aforementioned child's life in danger). Im no good samaritan. Too risky to try and help people in most instances.

I guess I was the irresponsible one that day.

Not at all.

my father in law, from the south side of Chicago, will break into a brogue as he's swilling my bourbon and refusing my irish whisky

As a kid we had one guy that was pretty bad. He had the fake root beer cover over the beer but he used to yell a lot. He would stand down the left field line by himself. I think he knew he bothered other people.

I coach so boredom isnt a factor but at gymnastics I dont drink. I think the line is "Can I tell you've been drinking?" If so, its too much.

Wood would be fine for little leaguers because they don't have the velocity to break the bats but when they get to 16U and 17U it becomes a problem. Most Summer and Fall league tournaments are wood bat and the bats get broken all the time. I see these kids walk up with 2 wood bats in their backpacks and think those won't last the weekend.

How much is a wood bat? $100? $150?

You don't have to pay that much for them, I have seen them as cheap as $40.00.

and those are the ones getting shattered by an 85mph fastball.

They all will get shattered, but I know what you are saying.

Two broken bats in my nephews wood bat summer league game last night.

Keyser, even with the aluminum and composite bats, there are issues. I will tell you those White and Orange Easton bats (2014 model) don't really break, but they completely lose their pop. I think they die after about 25 games. So while they don't shatter, they are effectively useless in short order. I stopped buying Easton because of the poor performance.

My son has always like the Demarini bats, he has never had a Easton. Now I did when I was a yute, but that was long, long ago.

The Demarini's are popular too. I think the Easton became the main bat because of the LLWS. Almost every kid had that black and yellow one in 2013 and then the orange and white one in 2014. I am sticking with Rip-It until further notice. We got through 52 games this year with the bat.

My son has played well over 80 games with the bat he is currently using, had to regrip about 5 times but I would rather pay for that. 2014 Demarini Vexxum

if you can name the brand and model of your kid's bat (without looking it up), I feel sorry for you and your kid.

I don't need you to feel sorry for me but like anything where I am paying a decent some of money for something I do some research. I just happen to know what I did research for. I am sorry you are such a miserable piece of shit, enjoy.

Terrible father. You were probably high at the time you bought it.

You should have Bernstein teach her how to turn around heaters.

Watching grown men fight is probably a welcome respite from spending your time and money enabling your ungrateful kids to be mediocre at sports.

Sounds more like a Darkside question, really.
