Like I'm going to volunteer that info. I was born at night, but not last night, baby.

Denver is terrible. Very bad opinion from CH there.

Denver is awesome, and is possibly my final landing spot. May have been already if real estate didn't skyrocket over the last two years.

Usually I get shit for saying I don't like places. What's terrible about Denver? I've been to worse cities. Architecturally, it's as dull as can be, and the airport is too far, but I enjoyed being downtown for a couple days.

I can dig it.

California was already on my list, but I visited Los Angeles ever so briefly this week. Natural beauty with man-made blight. My grandfather once turned down a job there, calling it "Niles with mountains in the background." That still pretty much holds true, as far as I can tell. The weather was perfect, but so much still looked shabby and disreputable. It's the inverse of South Florida, in a sense, where everything beautiful is developed to be that way while the untouched land is bleak and vaguely sinister.

It's 26 miles give or take.

O'Hare to downtown Chicago? About 26 give or take.

At least you can drive to Denver from the airport in about half the time it takes from O'Hare to Chicago.

It's a long list, but I'll get the big ones out of the way.

LoDo(uche) and Capitol Hill are the only two neighborhoods the city has. Both are horrible, LoDo being a bad Wrigleyville imitation (saying something) and Capitol Hill being home to entry-level rural hipsters/trendy yuppies. The rest is just nauseating sprawl from Colorado Springs all the way up to Fort Collins along the Front Range.

Oh, but the mountains! Where else can you share 3 acres of once-pristine mountain beauty with 5000 other people? I-70 is worse than the fucking Kennedy.

There's no culture whatsoever in Denver. What's their signature food? The Denver omelet? Is that even from Denver? There is not one place, custom, food, drink in the city itself that makes it "Denver". Even Salt Lake has the Mormons with their carrot JELLO. Nothing about Denver stands out. It's a soulless waste that unlike it's peers (Dallas, Indy) has the nerve to destroy a beautiful environment.

Everyone drives WRX's with Colorado flag bumper stickers. If they don't have NATIVE plastered all over their car they're from California. The girls you meet on Tinder dates (there's approx 100 women in Metro Menver) all have boyfriends and let you know only once you've gone through the hassle of meeting them in person. Prepare to have everyone demand you smoke LEGAL WEED with them, and then talk about LEGAL WEED for 4 or 5 hours.

Fucking hate Denver. It's near the top of my nationwide shit list alternating with Seattle for the crown.

Universal City, yeah.

Driving down the freeways and looking up at the hills made my heart flutter. Looking at crummy apartment complexes and shabby storefronts sure didn't.

Hahahaha, this more or less happened to me, except I met the girl sans phone app, she was also in from out of town, and didn't let me know until the fourth date, which I guess means they weren't really dates at all, now were they. Oh well, it was nice as an INFJ to make such a connection with an ESTP. Getting laid would have been nicer, probably.

You ARE speaking of Denver, Colorado, correct?

I was kidding about not seeing you.
I didn't see any crummy apartment complexes or shabby storefronts.
I was visiting relatives in Malibu.
Absolutely incredible!

Hollywood Boulevard is not as glamorous as the name may suggest.

I love Southern CA and hate Northern CA. spent a lot of time in both. LA, NY, Chicago are the only cities worthwhile in the USA.

It's about 20 miles from O'Hare to the Loop. The key difference is that you can slum it on the Blue Line for $4.50 a head (was $2.25 until Rahm decided to gouge the out-of-towners and working poor a little more), whereas leaving Denver Int'l is a $60 cab fare because Denver's cute little streetcar doesn't really make it out of downtown.

Boston? Miami? San Francisco? Minneapolis? I suspect you're not being entirely fair. I'd love to hear America's thoughts on Seattle, though. That animus surprises me, though I am aware that the city is ridiculously car-intensive for such a liberal paradise.

OK...20. Not much of a difference. Still favors Denver in general.

FWIW, I may like Seattle even more than Denver. I spent two weeks working in Seattle and the surrounding area a couple of years ago, and I was genuinely bummed during my ride to the airport to leave.

No it doesn't. It's farther away and doesn't have a reliable transit option.

If you rent a car, then the $60 cab fare is a wash, PLUS youhave transportation for the whole day!!! Plus, it doesn't take an hour to get there.
