He's going to get $20 million a year assuming he's healthy and doesn't get destroyed from this point on.

I'm sure the White Sox are going to make an offer as well, and it will probably be rejected since he's made it clear he wants to hit free agency.

White Sox can't afford losing streaks if they did want to avoid being sellers. They need another 10 out of 12 (or whatever the amount of game is prior to July 31). That's probably not likely given how they struggle to score runs.

The reality is Shark is dumb not to go to free agency and the Sox are dumb to pay him what he should get. Even if he doesn't deserve it in our minds.

Partially agree, they do want to make sure it is known they made an offer...but this is another Sox MO, they announce contract offers when JR thinks it benefits him...like the Mags deal...when per JR they offered him $75M for 5 years, just like Detroit did....but that 5th year was $1M a year for 15 years....so it isnt $15M, its the PV of $15 M and is more like $10 M....

Is Shark takes the offer, I would be really surprised. You went this long on that FA talk, gotta follow thru.
