when WIND can stop the entire game for a day, youre not playing a sport, youre an old wench sitting on the porch complaining about democrats

http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/golf/de ... ar-AAdaZbA

yeah, its called A LEVEL PLAYING FIELD, PUSSY. fuck, no wonder you guys get all upset when people call it a skills game. you dont want to use any skill, the moment anything is wrong like a loud crowd or a gust of wind you shit your depends. fuck golf, the whole thing is fucking retarded unless youre just out there with some buddies riding around in a cart getting drunk.

Do you want them to have someone come out and hold the ball while the other guy putts it?

Its not how bad the wind is because it bothers them, its because the balls are blowing on the greens....kinda makes it good for Caddyshack and thats it.

I will take 5 best golfers over the 5 best NASCAR guys in any match of Football, Basketball, Softball...and the Golf guys win all day.

So many great REAL Athletes on Golf tours. Granted, they are on the Golf tours because they could play hockey, basketball or baseball for a living, but they are great athletes....

Gary Woodland - Played hoop at Washburn...is that great? of course not, but I am sure if he went 1 on1 with Jeff Gordon, it's a shutout.

Dustin Johnson can dunk and odds are could have played college ball, his brother is at College of Charleston.

An athlete is a guy you can out in a number of situations and they outperform most regular people.

the NASCAR guys probably end up behind those regular people.

yeah you might want to back off that comment.

Old time NASCAR guys were not very athletic.

However, today a lot of the NASCAR drivers are very athletic.

Carl Edwards, Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne, Denny Hamlin are all guys that I would put up with any golfer you want as far as athletics go.

being "in shape" does not make you athletic....I understand they get in better shape for the endurance part of what they do...

Saw Khane in vegas...he is nothing..5'6"? 140???? I could school that guy in any major sport...

feel OK NOT BACKING DOWN on that one....

 You could outplay Steve Kerr on a softball team but that does not make you more athletic than Kerr.

This goes deeper for than just being in shape.

There are a bunch of good athletes on the tour, but there are some good athletes in NASCAR as well, and for you to make it seem like they would be outdone by just regular people is just silly.

How would you know if NASCAR drivers are good athletes? They make left turns in a car for a couple hours.

Oh haha good one, the ole they make left turns joke. You are a funny one.

I know because I actually keep up with the sport and the drivers.

This Onion article captures the distinct way in which golf fans are terrible.

I dont even consider myself a big golf fan, but I know they are way better athletes than the few guys who drive cars around a track that might be able to shoot a jumper...

I would guess the pit crew has better athletes than most of the drivers.

Why is shooting a basketball the criterion for athleticism? Why not, say, track and field?

No big. The drivers have incredible talent and atheltisicm. Nascar is really hard.. Youre muscling a boat with the precision of an nba shooter. But its not the level of an f1 driver. Those guys are inhuman.

Lots of bad thoughts in this one.

Are we taking the "top 5" from each sport, or just picking and choosing to see which guys are good at each sport?

Gary Woodland will never be "top 5" in the world. But neither will Elliot Sadler, but he was all-state hoops player in HS. But grew up in a racing family and eventually went that way. If Elliot Sadler plays 1 on 1 against Rory McIlroy, Sadler wins 100 times out of 100.
Bad comparison, right?

Can we count Brad Daugherty in the Nascar world? Because I'm pretty sure he's more in the NASCAR family than Dustin Johnson's brother is in the golf family.

If I'm drafting a pick up football team, give me Carl Edwards over any golfer. Maybe Ryan Newman too.

AND FINALLY.......I can guarantee you, on average, NASCAR drivers are much better golfers than golfers are as race car drivers. So there's that.

Current World Golf Rankings:

1. Rory McIlRoy - plays soccer with friends........blows out achilles
2. Jordan Spieth - I believe he does golf, just golf, only golf, golf robot. But possibly athletic.
3. Bubba Watson - "athlete" :|
4. Dustin Johnson - even by proxy, probably still can't skate
5. Rickie Fowler - really, really good at riding his BMX around the cul-de-sac. Also pretty good at Major Championship golf.

As a fan of both golf and nascar, I'm gonna say nascar drivers are, on average, more athletic than golfers.
Tony Stewart is a slob, but there are many slob golfers also. Jeff Gordon is tiny and twerp, but so is Zach Johnson and Louis Ostheizen.

Jimmie looks like a decent athlete.
I swear one of Iverson's buddies and teammates at Georgetown races...Brendan Gaughan.
Truex and Jr look like they could drink a few beers and get a few hits playing softball.
Carl is an olympic male gymnast.

A ton of the older Nascar guys are the size of Scott fucking Hamilton so I am going with the golf guys.
A dismembered Tom Watson could kick the shit out of Logano at any sport.

Who is talking about the "old guys"?
Lee Trevino? Craig Stadler? Fuzzy Zoeller? Come on. You don't want to count "older" golfers......

Zach Johnson
Louis Oosthuizen
Jim Furyk
Jason Day
Hideki Matsuyama
Matt Kuchar
Chris Kirk
Billy Horschel
Paul Casey

All in the top 25 of golf rankings, all fairly small guys.

Oh, and.....Ian Poulter.

And Mickelson. Can he play basketball or softball or....better than the average current NASCAR driver?

I have no idea how small these golfers are.....but nascar has some jockeys. I used to look up their heights and weights....a bunch of them are 5'4ish and 145. I can imagine golfers are that short. Long and lanky yes...but jockey height?

I think the key part is "used to".
Jeff Gordon is retiring. He is old guard now.

Jimmie Johnson isn't big, but he is as fit as any golfer. Bar none.
Drivers usually can't be gigantic, due to size/weight constraints, but I think a lot of golfers could some size/weight constraints at this point.

I will have to read over their stats again.

It was the guys like Kenseth, biffle, smoke, dinger, Jamie Mac, the dillons, Stenhouse....lots of guys under 5'8.

Kyle and Kurt are normal sized but not athletes.

Size has nothing to do with athleticism. While there are many NASCAR drivers who are workout fiends like Carl Edwards, Golfers are Most likely more lean, limber & athletic than NASCAR drivers.

I think we are probably saying the same thing
Golfers and drivers are both WAY undersized, on average, compared to athletes in the "big 4" sports.

Both sports have gotten way better, fitness-wise, in the last few years.
