Being 2 games ahead of the Mets doesnt concern me at all....they have some pitching that wont hold up ...and they cant hit...

SF! The team 1 game back....thats a huge concern,,,,of which you have 7 left with them......FYI

....and while I want to see them in the playoffs, want to see player improvement over a sacrifice to make this wildcard spot!

You are insane.

The #2 Wild Cards met in the World Series last year.

Cubs have a playoff rotation. Just need the bats to come alive.

Keep winning series'. The math will work itself out.

Giants are proven winners, Its a concern for sure . If the Cubs win 84 or more ..IMO its a great season n building block...regardless if they get in...but getting in would be outstanding for club morale n experience.

Giants are the clear favorite.

Player development at the big league level is most important.

Right now there's a Mets fan posting this same exact thought about the Cubs on a New York sports fan message board.

Well, the Mets pitching will definitely hold up. The Cubs' pitching might or might not...but I'm confident the offense will improve for the Cubs. The Mets offense will not.

Need to finish July strong. August looks like a tough month. Said from day 1, anything .500 or better was a positive this season, but with how they have led most of the way, I kind of want them to close the deal for the Wild Card. It's pretty much a 2 team race, I think the Mets will be gone by mid to late August. Lots of rumors of SF adding a SP or bat.

The experience of the Giants is my concern....they know what they need to do.

I'd say August and September should be a bit easier than that tough June-July stretch.

two series against the Nationals
a series against the Twins
a series against the Tigers
two series against the Cardinals
a series against the Mets
a series against the Royals
a series against the Dodgers

There is no tough stretch in the NL...just degrees of bad sprinkled with a couple of decent teams.

Don't worry though, Sox will take care of those big, scary Cardinals again for you this week

I just don't get this. The priorities should be the other way around.

All we hear is playoff randomness theory, yet getting to the playoffs this year doesn't seem to take any priority.

Cub fans have a mental illness.
