mac what was worse-- the post surgery pain, or watching your traditional 'ask mac' thread turn into a pissing match over mike greenberg and payroll?

catch any good movies while you were on IR?

with the colder weather coming and the back problem(s), how do you intend to keep working out to keep off most of the weight that you've already dropped?

Mac might remember this. I remember Greeny hosting that CLTV hour sports show when he had Boers and Mac as guests. Christ, Greeny rose through the ranks in a hurry. He went to ESPN 2 and was doing morning drive national radio in a heart beat.

Score - CLTV - National radio. I think he did that in like 5 years.

Tought to say if Greeny makes morethan Golic strictly off the radio gig. Golic has had the job longer that Greeny. However, since he's the driver I could see how he makes more. My guesses...

Greenberg - 2.2 Million per year for Radio work only
Golic - 2.3 Million per year for Radio work only

Yea, but the question was strictly what they get paid for the radio gig in the morning. We aren't counting anything else these two guys do.

Na, I just went to Colts-Pats last week and the week before was Lions-Bears. I'm on my bye week. I was going to go to Bears-Seahawks, but it just doesn't have the same appeal it once did. So who knows..maybe visit Arizona in the first weekend of Feb.

Do you have any plans for capturing those listeners who are free agents now that Dahl has moved to mornings? This is an excellent opportunity to grow the listnership.

Why does Steve Dahl have any listeners at all? Are they fans of 10-20 seconds of dead air at any given time?

Stu seems to have an unhealthy obsession with sex and poo when combined. He says he is gross but I don't believe him since this is the second post about the 2 in a short time frame. Dirty bird.

I don't know any men that listen to Dahl. He is bad.

Right. There are listeners to get. Mac will get alot just by default. Not much out there. Hell, B&B and MJH will probably just split the Dahl audience. So they both benefit from him leaving.

I've been down that road Mac's going thru and it sucks believe me..I'm not making light of his pain and I know he's hurting a bit but the good natured ball busting is good for him and I'm sure he's reading some of this and laughing...

dolphin I agree on some level, but how big of his ratings share are men that might tune in to 1000? Definitely try but I don't know how successful it will be. All of the people I know that listen to Dahl are 40+ women. They aren't going to switch to ESPN.

My mom listens to Dahl. She came over and I had 1000 on and asks Are you listening to Harry Teinowitz? I said yeah how'd you know that? She said he was on the loop. He's not very good. I don't think she was sold on Jurko and Mac either.

Hey Mac, any thought to bringing UofI athletics to the 1000 powerhouse? It's ridiculous that they are on 560AM and I can't even get a decent signal at noon on a Saturday.

I'd rather they be on 1000 so I wouldn't be able to get a decent signal after 5pm the rest of the week. :wink:

Seriously, though, I am biased but I think UofI would draw more listeners than some of the other colleges I hear on major stations that I will not call out by name. Let's just call them NIU and UIC.

Dr. Ken- I get the signal Sat. afternoons pretty well here in Hooterville. Barnhardt (sic?) really is good at p/b/p, but Kittner doesn't add much. The last year or so I've been the last guy to know if we have anything cooking with "new programming," but I agree the U of I would be a much bigger draw than Northern (sorry Huskieheads) or DePaul. Good call. Now if only I ran a sports station.....

With Rocky Wirtz pulling out all the stops and building a franchise all Hawks fans can be proud of and with the hiring of Mcdonough from the Cubs and making him team President, does this mean you guys will be forced to start talking hockey? The Bulls are crapping the bed and the Bears (well) not much there.
