pretty good. maybe this stems from the earlier part of the 21st century when the 20 somethings were making immediate impacts (and then blew ass), such as prior, wood, patterson, a-gon, zambrano, and of course...the great jerry hairston, jr. cubs fans were so spoiled.

He hasn't produced in day games - .215 BA, .346 SLG with a higher strikeout rate - even though his BABIP in them is a respectable .339. If I cared enough, a hit spray chart comparing day/night at bats would be interesting.

He needs to work on that, and until it improves, Joe needs to occasionally give him a Sunday afternoon game off.

I think he's gonna be a fine ball player. Be in MLB for 12-15 years. He'll hit his 25-30 HRs per year. But he might just be a .270 hitter for his career. Which is fine.

But based on what he did in the minors, he was in rare air. So the disappointment might be that he's not an elite player.

I think people were thinking a 40-50 HR guy from him. Huge slugging percentage.

People were thinking Miguel Cabrera for him. He might just be Paul Konerko. Once again, not bad to be Paul Konerko. Just that he won't live up to the expectations of an all time great.

Prior - was great for a few years .
Wood - juiced up pretender , he did throw one great game .
Patterson- had one good year .
Alex Gonzalez - sucked when we acquired him , he was a 7-8 year veteran n was a known buster at the plate but allegedly played great defense ( until it really matters)

Zambrano - was great for 4-5 years ...dumbass hendry threw a ridiculous contract at an emotional guy n it was really dumb.


Hairston - another known veteran buster ...nobody expected shit n he provided nothing.
