I used to like this show until recently, when it seems the show has become more and more scripted and therefore fake. The last season-finale episode was pretty laughable. Somehow the Brown family acquired a boat with no money (they went into debt buying the boat from a friend) and they're using the boat to make money from hauling to hard-to-reach areas in the bush. The last episode had them delivering two goats and and stupid car hood acting as a desk, when they drove their boat for more than five hours to do so. That could hardly be economic. And all the time they are talking about how the weather will affect them en route or how they might hit a rock and sink them, which has gotten old. Before I respected their desire to live independently, but it's clear now they're just using the show to make a buck. I read an article that they don't even stay in the house that they built, rather they live in a hotel in a nearby city and commute-in for the shoot.

I know I have no one to blame but myself for watching. But someone should call them out for being frauds.

I assume that every reality show is complete bullshit.

Nat Geo "Life Below Zero" is pretty good. They do a good job of showing a rough life, not just the nice and fun parts. They dont have any special events set up for the camera. Maybe after another season some producer will want them to do something more than the daily tasks, but these people live in houses that are habitable and believeable...not a grass and log hut, with 9 people in -30 degree temps at night.
