i thought Hawk was gonna choke up and get all teary eyed after the Sox put that 4 spot up in the 4th....took about 30 seconds for the "for the first 92 games we couldn't play any worse than this, and now...." weeks and weeks of garbage followed by 1 good half inning was all it took for Hawk to get his bright eyed optimism back

Quintana throwing another good game. The guy is remarkably consistent. You know what you're going to get from him game in and game out. Dependable starters are rare and extremely valuable.

Now if Quintana would just consistently do that every time out, he'd be a much better pitcher.

He'd be the best pitcher of all time.

In reality, he's a really good pitcher, and has been for 3 seasons now. He's been a #2 type starter, but doesn't get the recognition because of his W-L record.

That is an amazing feat; I wish I would have seen it. That guy struggles to hit the ball out of the infield typically.

Petricka dominating today so Ventura searches the bullpen for a guy who can blow the game.

Ventura did the same thing on Saturday during the Cubs series. Sox were up 5 or 6 to nothing (I think) at that point, 9th inning and Jake was mowing them down, and Ventura brings in Jennings to face a lefty. Just awful.

Really good series for the Pale Hose this weekend. Its not over yet!

How about just holding pat? Why do the Sox have to choose between buying and selling? They have the best starting pitching in the game... you make another go of it next year (with or without Samardizja, though I would prefer with).

I agree with dumping LaRoche, though. DH by committee and find some way to get a middle-order bat who has a goddamn position. The Sox have a lot of infielders with clear strengths but also glaring weaknesses, use the DH to play their strengths more and soften the impact of those weaknesses.

Nice catch by Shuck. No way Eaton gets a good enough jump to haul that one in.

Intentionally walking Avi in the 5th inning of a 1 run game? Huh. Ok.

The bad defense is showing up again. Saladino's flash in the pan is about to go out.

The Sox are running all over the Sawks outfielders tonight. I have a bad feeling about the bullpen shutting them down so they need to get a few more points on the board.

For as fast as he is, he is a bad base runner and base stealer, and he gets bad jumps in the outfield.

His bad jumps are a product of his poor fundamentals. His first step is almost always incorrect.
