That's very clever.

He must not be right. He had arm issues back with Texas and I didn't think he ever had surgery. It was bound to come back and get him.

Rondon or Strop. Doesn't have to be just 1 guy. Motte looks more like the guy who struggled early in the season once again. Might need a few days off. Soriano will be fine. He's not the only guy who got taken deep by Cargo this season. Sometimes you have to credit the other guy.

Well, that was a nice turn of events, I guess. The young guys are learning.

Just keep in mind, this win means no more than the no-hitter loss Saturday when it comes to this year. They are not going to cach the Giants. I'm comfortable that the front office is just as aware of that fact as we are. I'll just enjoy whatever the rest of this season brings.

Carl Edwards could always take soriano's roster spot.

Yes. I don't want to see him on the mound. Motte's not far behind either.

Motte's magic has worn off and it should not be a surprise. His fastball has no movement and a major league hitter should be able to hit a 95 MPH fastball, plus he has no other pitches. 25 strikeouts in 38 innings doesn't scream closer, I was shocked Motte success so far this year, a lot of "atom" balls.

Soriano appears done and this guy from Seattle looks less than impressive, maybe the vaunted Cub farm system can develop some power arms.

Motte seems more of 7th-8th set-up guy, IMO, especially because a lot of times those guy only have to get 2 outs (or less) instead of 3. I know those are falling out of fashion in today's baseball, but he's not a 9th inning shut down guy.
I'm not sure what Soriano is now. :x

It will be interesting to see if they trade for a closer now. Gotta think if Philly eats alot of cash on that 13M contract for next season that Papelbon will be here.

Motte and Soriano are no longer quality closers.

As for Strop, no way. Rondon is the best they have right now.

Maddon has to see that right??

We are probably going to see Schlitthouse at some point soon. He has been dealing in Iowa as the closer. Had a rough one yesterday but came into that game with a .069 era.

I'll take it.

Can he intentionally walk the hottest hitter in the NL on 4 pitches?
