Took my 12yr old stepson to see this on Saturday in 3D. The movie was about as bad as you would expect a Sandler/Kevin James movie to be. There were
a few cheap laughs that went over the kids head. I don't believe I will ever pay the cash to see a 3D movie again. I just don't see any advantage to it. I
was really surprised at how expensive it was for the two of us to go. Two matinee 3D tickets, two drinks and a popcorn was $35. Yikes! Some of the 80s
references were good and I was surprised he knew the video games in the movie so that part was enjoyable. Dinklage plays a pretty funny character but
overall this movie was just bad all around.

it seemed like every movie reviewer was astonished by the level of bad this film was. I'm sorry you spent $35 to see it.

This review of the movie was so well done i have to share it

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFD2293oGvA

It will probably end up with more views than the movie itself will get

I made the mistake of doing 3D and buying the concessions. It was a teachable moment for myself. I am totally new at the stepdad thing.
He enjoyed it which I guess is really the only thing that matters, I'll know better for next time.

Yep, you will be right back in that 3D movie because he wants to go.

I have watched a lot of dogshit Sandler movies in my life but this takes the dogshit cake. Almost no humor.

This was completely Sandler formulaic with 80s references, Sandler playing a dopey guy who is actually a genius and is a hero, weak put downs of the villain that you can see coming from a mile away, Sandler getting a beautiful woman at the end.

That Josh Gad sucks. How is that guy getting roles? Even worse, he appears to be in that Eddie Murphy mindset where he negotiates himself singing into every movie. I have seen him in two movies now and the guy has used both to squeeze in a musical appearance. This guy is officially on my don't watch list.

Fuck you King of Queens. You mushed me in Vegas and you suck hard as anything but Doug Heffernan.

I am smitten with Michelle Monaghan. I know she has flaws like being a bit skinny/having no chest and she is a bit long in the tooth but I think she is gorgeous. Maybe it is True Detective thing but I cannot get enough of that woman.

She was looking very MILFy in this one. You nailed the Josh Gad stuff, really bad. I enjoyed Dinklage because he was supposed to be playing over the top bad in his role.

Dinklage was fine.

He has really broken barriers. That wasn't a midget role and you really don't even think of him as being a midget when he acts

I don't know how Serena Williams could have greenlit that appearance. She looked like a man, even when dressed up as beautifully as could be and with favorable makeup and lighting.

When you sad the 12 year old, thats what I would think it is meant for...then some lines for those who take them to the movie...

but that looks so bad, might get to Cable before entourage.

The other cruddy thing about this movie is that it is clearly marketed towards kids but has all the gratuitous swearing of a PG.

The movie really has no point.

Of course it does, silly!

It's a lazy money machine for Sandler and his friends. Even if it tanks people get paid.

Adam Sandler must be stopped, no matter the cost.

yeah, mine too. i think he got roles because he was a cheaper version of jack black when black was making bank. now, though? i have no idea what his appeal is to anyone. he looks annoying, sounds annoying, and that added bonus of the singing or whatever just makes him even more insufferable.

the sad thing is, and i will never subject myself to this film, is that it's based on a pretty interesting short subject film back in 2010. where it went wrong is when it wound up in sandler's hands. he doesn't have the sensitivity for this kind of nostalgia. and this along with "eight crazy nights" are two examples of how he just doesn't know what the fuck he's doing if he's not billy madison or happy gilmore. i get he wants to live in the 80's, and his 80's style party movies are fine for stupid humor. but leave stuff like this alone. this belonged in the hands of a capable film production, something ivan reitman would have been right at home with.

the biggest atrocity is that it had a lot of potential to be a classic.

I know this has gotten awful reviews and it's probably even too shitty for me to like but I want to see it at some point just to see if Dinklage nails Billy Mitchell's personality as well as he nailed his look.

i heard it was a good representation. if you're gonna check that out, just wait til someone cuts it up and puts all those parts on youtube. there's no need to subject yourself to the whole damn movie just to see probably a 20-30 minute portion that will satiate your curiosity.

I thought the same thing. It probably could have been a poor man's Ghostbusters if done correctly and with a few different actors.

You know Dinkledge is breaking down barriers when they hire another midget actor to play the younger version of him in the movie
