The Cubs are not going to continue to play this bad and the Sox are not going to continue to play this good.
Reality is both teams will probably miss the wildcard. Cubs will finish with 84 wins and be 2 games out of the wild card and 3rd place in the central. Sox will finish with 79 wins and be several out of wildcard and in 4th place in the central.
The Cubs aren't really playing their worst baseball of the year though. They are a .500 team, like they've pretty much been since April ended.
The Sox on the other hand have been one of the best teams in baseball for the month of July. It may not be a fluke.
