B&B already mocking Fox and Pace on reporting day. Nothing ever changes.

Big news is that Kevin White is out with a shin injury, while Bernstein chides reporters for not asking what the nature of the injury is. He's got a point. Why the hell is White not ready for camp??

White hasn't had enough time to recover in their month off? He hasn't done anything yet. Hurt from walk-throughs in shorts??

Great, we got an injury prone receiver 1st round.

Been a silly show so far. Like it.

Making fun of the Bears management is what they do.

Yes, it's good to hear them in season form. But these guys are not Trestman & Co. They deserve a little more respect on day 1, when they don't have anything really to talk about yet.

Well at least their not calling Fox and Pace "VERY SMART MEN." Then have to back peddle in few months. "They're so weird!"

I seen Kevin White walking downtown by the Crown Fountain about 2 months ago (the big LED waterfalls thing). No one knew who he was except me, so he was able to walk around with no fanfare or no one following him. I gave him the brother head nod and kept it moving. Yeah he was with his hot gf.

I need Beardown's take, including a fake conversation, until I decide.

For as much as I hate him sometimes, Bernstein was very quick to sniff out the likely reason for White not being ready, that he had a procedure done, explaining why the Bears are keeping quiet about it. And he's right in saying it's nonsense what the Bears are claiming about White needing conditioning before he can start practicing full-time. Practicing in camp is in itself conditioning.

The highlight of the show for me was Bernstein's semi-mockery of Z.Z. that he would say during his segment everything will be all right with White.

I have to give Dan and Terry thumbs up for today. Good start to camp.

But Dan calling Hub or B.B. his guy at H.H. doesn't count.

Wow.....breaking bad on the Bears on day 1? Interesting.

And I hear ZZ on this morning. Pretty obvious he picked up the Honey Bear outfit from the cleaners on the way to Bourbannais. Mully was already tempering Zach's Bears buzz.

Gets my vote for one of the all-time funniest CSFMB quotes.

So, we already know it's a shin injury. Do we expect them to share much more than that?

That's all speculation. He could have just as easily said that they are being extra cautions since IT'S JULY!!! If a guy isn't practicing, and is their priced rookie, perhaps they are going to give him a few days to get his conditioning back up to where it should be. Bernstein could be 100% correct on this; I just don't see this as a controversy, etc. unless this lingers beyond a few weeks.

Z.Z. works for CBS and he works for the Bears. Breaking bad on the Bears for CBS will not keep him working for the Bears very long.

When CBS has the Cubs, those covering the Cubs will understand and employ this relationship.

I totally understand how the relationship works. Which is why Zaidman should not be on the Score.

I think of him the same way I used to think of Hub, "Company man." I ignored Hub back then and I ignore Z.Z. now. He won't say anything that isn't in line with what the Bears want communicated. Ignore him.

What I learned today is that "day-to-day" is coachspeak for "We're not going to tell you when a guy is going to be back."

Otherwise, Dan thinks it's more fitting that the Bears put leg-irons on Kevin White than handcuffs, figuratively speaking. Whoa! (Yes, he actually said that). Go figure that Dan is actually from Charleston S.C. originally and not Buffalo Grove.

And John Fox's manner with reporters could be described as Lovie Smith Redux, to provide great entertainment for B&B mocking segments on Bears Mondays.

John Fox, like 95% of the coaches in the NFL, are generally not going to volunteer information. For whatever reason, probably lack of knowledge, this seems like a shock to the supposed NFL experts at the Score. Even when they were fawning in Trestman's opening season about how open he was, he said a whole lot of nothing. That's not unusual.

I remember Boers saying something similar way back (15 years?) when he first got a Corvette. He was irritated to learn that it was customary/expected that he wave/nod to every passing Corvette owner.
