The Vegas line on the Sox is looking to be pretty accurate.

I'm not offended by a computer program. I'm offended by jealous Cub fans spouting the silly number as gospel while insisting it isn't gospel.

yea, whatever. sure

We are in the same boat, but getting off at a different port. We set sale, knowing this would be a step toward the World Series and got excited when they started off running. But like any runner that sprints at the beginning of a marathon, you know you can't finish sprinting in your first year of training. The Cubs are one of the up and coming young teams in MLB. You can't deny that. The Sox are treading water without a live boat.

I understand the basics of a projection program. Sorry if I can't post the code it was written in. It's not like its some regular joe's blog that projected it. It is MLB.com  I think their programmers are pretty good.

Then you are a fool. MLB added the second wildcard to give hope to all the bottom feeders that where out of the playoff race by the all star break. Ratings where down, attendance was dropping and they had to do something to keep you interested. So... they gave you hope and change. But just like Obama, this was a smokescreen to keep you interested, when there is no hope or change. Just more the same. Enjoy your slim hope for change because really what else do you have to look forward to as White Sox fans. M.Johnson?
Can I get your updated thoughts on the second wild card please?

Sure, the White Sox will not win the second wild card spot. The wildcard spot is for that 99 win team that happens to be in the same division as a 100 win team. You are not going to win the Wildcard if you are not one of the best teams in the league. People look at the standings and see a number. 2.5 games back and say, "Hey, we are still in this thing." When actually you are not because a dozen or so other teams are "in this thing." as well and in that mix is the 99 win team stuck in the 100 win division.

All this win streak is doing for Sox fans is taking away the possibility of gaining some prospects and moving players you need to move to get better. But at least you can watch baseball for a couple more weeks, with the "hope" of winning the Wild Card spot and maybe that is all you wanted in the first place. Because Winning the World Series is so.... 2005.

That number haunts you.

My grandfather made that same dumb Cub fan statement back in 1927.

You only hear what you want to hear. Like my ex wife. Cubs have real hope. They are still missing a few pieces and experience. So, can they make the playoffs? Sure, if they get hot and trade for a couple missing pieces. Thinking that does not make Cub fans stupid. Wanting your team to not trade for the future because you are 2.5 games out with a dozen other teams a head of you IS STUPID. That is my point.

He broke the cycle of abuse. Why would he want to return. His investment already paid off with a WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP IN 2005

Actually, the White Sox are setting Sale later this evening in Boston.

Its ok that you are jealous of the White Sox having a better record than the Cubs for 75% of the baseball season. This is not unchartered waters for us, or for you.

All it takes is a White Sox winning streak to destroy the notion that the obsession over the other side of town doesn't go both ways.

Reports out there that the White Sox are trying to trade for Cespedes. If they do that, which OFer is done? Garcia I would assume?

Would seem like a better goal would be to trade for 3B

I do not want KW to make any deadline moves.

I could see the Sox waiting things out two more weeks and making a waiver move

And yet the Cubs have a better record for 100% of the same season!

Using Dave Franklin math, I believe the Cubs have a better record than the Sox for 300% of the last 3 seasons, but I'm a little fuzzy on the details of that system....

 yeah I was thinking about this earlier. Can you imagine the crap Cub fans would get from Frank if they used such fuzzy math to proclaim they are better for the season...

Silly kids
