i didn't say all trophy hunting. esp in places corrupt like zimbabwe. but in many places, trophy hunting funds are nearly the only way for conservation funds to be even gotten in some of these places. If not for these hunts, many places would be run by poaching which is still very much a huge issue.

I read some time ago that Namibia raised over 10 million us dollars for conservation by having lottery trophy hunts. they have seen a resurgence in white rhinos as well as elephants because of it. the conservation efforts help provide more habitat for the animals as well as breeding programs and what not. the funds incentivize land owners to keep out and deter poachers. And a good outfitter goes after older non breeding males or problem animals.

once again, I'm saying all of this while also acknowledging that many African countries are not as good or well intentioned and there are ton of power hungery jackass hunters who do a ton of shitty things. This guy seemingly lured (his guide did) a near tamed lion out to kill it. He's one of the jackasses as far as i can tell. but I also think it odd that whenever someone indulges in some sort of perceived extravagance they must have a tiny penis. oh he hunts big game. small penis. ooo he bought an expensive car. small penis.
