Dont know if it really is coming in September, but Markets are sure reflecting it this morning.

While Yellen seems like my dead Aunt Syd, I would think she doesnt like it when others project or almost tell her what to do, thus this "built in" expectation will be very interesting if she feels it has been leaked or that she is being bullied in anyway.

RPB, your opinion on such increase?

An interest rate increase is overdue and needs to happen.

My guy believes it will be pushed back to December at least. Not enough information. But the market is ready now so it wont do much to the markets immediately, either way.

We've kicked the can so long, might as well keep kicking it until its absolutely certain we're ready.

Needed but carefully implemented as US/global economy still shaky.

At this point I don't think it's about what economic impact, if any, a tiny increase will have (I've even seen 1/8 of a point bandied about), but rather that the Fed needs to gain some credibility. I will disagree with RPB in that I think the markets will go nuts when and if it finally happens.

I think that when a ridiculous company like SoulCycle files for an IPO, it's a sign the bull market may be nearing the end.

Yea. We did it a few years ago. 15yr 2.5%. Those numbers won't be seen again for a loooong time.

Im honestly passing along my interest rates guys thoughts. I think maybe he meant the market has preadjusted to it from a long term perspective.

I'm at 4 7/8 now on an FHA. I'm stuck with too much debt to re-finance until end of February. Hoping the increase is limited until then...but do agree it's needed.

Good idea to throw a wet blanket on the one economy in the world that isn't horrible.

You should be able to do an FHA streamline right now...debt doesn't matter with a streamline as long as you've been current the last 12 months.

We did that last year. We may have the house paid off, before I turn 50.

If you put 30% down and do a 15yr theres little need to worry about the interest rate. It will be many years before it goes above 5%

Wow, I thought I did well at 2.875 on a 15 (about three years ago). Haven't seen anything close to 2.5.

I don't think the Prime is going up this year.

Earlier in the year I thought Q3/Q4 but I've backed off on that.

What do you think should happen? An increase is necessary, no?
