Ed Schultz, Alex Wagner, and The Cycle are all gone. Probably for the best: Ed Schultz was a blowhard, Alex Wagner was just another spoiled DC insider, and I don't think I've seen a minute of The Cycle. I think it had a Huntsman daughter, though.

Sounds like they're clearing out the redundant opinion shows in daytime to do more straightforward news coverage. Also, they need to warehouse Brian Williams since he makes millions of dollars and has nothing else to do.

They need to bring Olbermann back. Only thing that was worth watching on that channel.

I thought Olbermann was in over his head on hard news, but did an amazing job back at ESPN. Maybe I missed Peak Olbermann. I mostly remember his work in 2008 when he was ridiculously in the tank for Obama.

That's been one of the rumors. I doubt it, but hopefully they can.

And fwiw, Alex Wagner is a loss. If nothing else, I enjoyed her show with the bonus that she is not hard on the eyes.

I heard about a possible house cleaning at MSNBC a few months ago. I was told that MSNBC's ratings were going backwards & they decided to get away from left wing radio & were going to fire all of the lefty hosts & move to the center. Unless there is another round of firings, too many liberal hosts remain to move to the center, Sharpton. Maddow Mathews.

They've always gone too heavy on opinion shows. There are only so many hours you can devote to the same opinion; even Fox News pumps the brakes a little in daytime. This has been an issue of MSNBC's going back to the time Martin Bashir said he wanted to shit in Sarah Palin's mouth. That's as good a sign as any that you have too much opinion programming.
