No Haren today because he pitched Thu (6 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 4 Ks). Has pitched 4 times in career on 0-3 days rest. #Cubs would rather wait

Maddon has been consistent this year, in giving guys full rest. He does not skip guys in the rotation after an off day and having Haren pitch on less than full rest would not be his style. So far, it's looking like it should work out with Richard in the spot start and then the rotation can get set, with Haren taking the #3 spot in the rotation in Pittsburg. I respect Richard's effort in this start today, knowing that barring injury, he may not get another start this season. Then again, if he pitches well enough, he may get picked up by another team after the Cub's designate him after today's start.
