VERY High Ground ball rate on Tommy Hunter. Maybe he does become the save guy because nobody else can mentally handle it, but dont give a shit.

also, another guy who came up with another organization (ATL) and at one time was a premier prospect in the Braves situation. Maybe he didnt become Cy Young, but that doesnt mean he isnt a good pitcher.

I was looking at the upcoming pitching matchups and noticed we miss Cole and Burnett (eventhough he has struggled lately) vs the Pirates and in the four game series vs the Giants we miss Bumgarner. If our Cubs are true contenders they will take advantage of this. Lets start today by finishing the sweep. I'm dead set on getting in that wildcard game vs the Pirates.

Keep Richard on a short leash...if things go sideways , hit the pen early ..need this win.

With the number of pitches that Richard winds up throwing in the dirt, Schwarber's ability (or lack thereof) to block pitches in the dirt is showing up today. Needs to work on moving laterally more, rather than reaching with the glove and trying to pick the pitches out of the dirt.

I get the feeling that umpires in general are tired of Joe Maddon. Does he understand you cannot bitch to the umps about the decision of a replay challenge...especially when you are clearly wrong?

He probably wanted to get tossed, as he knows the Cubs can beat these stiffs even on auto-pilot.

I think he expected the ump to explain why he was safe (Rizzo's foot was off the base when he received the throw), and didn't get an explanation.

Joe just had some fine Binny's wine he was itching to try.

Richard sure does have the sinker working today. Yes, it is the Brewers. But he has done a pretty nice job in this spot start. Amazing to see Neal Cotts still pitching.

Saw Cotts Friday night...was shocked to see him walking around in Pregame...did go to the interweb to see if he was coaching!

They've bumped up against the ten game mark numerous times this year and failed to reach it. Good to see them finally get it. The next seven games will make or break their season. A week from now we'll know if they actually have a chance down the stretch. As long as they don't crap all over themselves, they'll be in it the rest of the year.

4-3 works for me.

They get the sweep and Castro continues to prove why he doesn't belong at SS on this team.

As much as it pains me, I agree with you in this instance. I going to take a shower now.

I am in no way a Castro supporter, but he had some really good at bats all series. Had numerous line drives that resulted in outs. His hits were his weakest swings.

They got this. They spend a solid month with 6 games out of town.

MLB loves the Cubs.
