It really is bad. There is just too much going on. Tough to follow if you're drinking. I got most of it. But I miss the subtle shit.

Plus the acting and writing is bad. Rachel McAdams is knife practicing while her sister visits? Really? Can't put the knife down for the visit? Gotta show the audience she's a bad ass? C'mon. It's so stupid.

Other than the fact that their little caper at the end was far fetched and unbelievable I thought this was one of the best episodes. You can say that was a low bar to clear
but I found it pretty decent and the dialogue was better. The fact that they knew where to find the papers and then knew which door she was coming out with the
other girl was beyond unbelievable but at least with the info and witness they can wrap things up in the final two episodes.

Said it from Ep 1. Every scene with everyone they try to make super intense. Its a complete Joke.

However, I did LOL when these two are sitting at the kitchen table intent and serious and the topic was coffee.

but every scene with them is like this.

I actually haven't minded Vaughn. Colin Farrell has been really bad until last nights episode.

I'm by far from a coke expert, I feel like that should be enough to kill you right?

It seemed like an OD should have followed.

Yeah, that seemed like quite a bit. I am no expert but I feel confident you wouldn't feel very good after doing a pile that
large.

You are definitely on an island with your Vaughn love..he's awful ..he mumbles and nobody is buying him or his crew as badasses. Its pathetic . I don't think the writer did him any favors with the horseshit dialogue. McAdams is equally cringe worthy.

Ferrell is the lone bright spot in this train wreck. I've seen guys do more blow than that ...but he'd be sweating his nutz off n look pretty jacked...he looked very composed n not dis shoveled at all ...the show sucks .

The problem is that Season 1 took type cast actors and turned them into something I never expected. They were truly solid performances. Despite what you think of the plot or ending to Season 1, I suspect you'd agree that Woody and Matthew were awesome.

I was really hoping they could turn Vince into a great role, and it just hasn't happened. I think they are trying to make him funny with odd one liners. He has this pseudo serious personality akin to some of the stuff done in Pulp Fiction. So he's a bad ass that makes witty jokes. But he is not that believable as a bad guy nor is he funny. In all honesty, he is really quite pathetic. Imagine having a woman like that waiting for you when you get home, and all you say is maybe we can talk tomorrow.

Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey practically played themselves.

I just got caught up, so i've been avoiding this thread.

-I agree the story has been pretty hard to follow. Watching it with someone and frequent pause breaks explain subtletys helps. That said, it shouldn't be that much work to watch TV. At the end of an hour, I'm fucking exhausted. You can't miss a sentence or you miss something.

-I think Vaughn's been not bad. Not world changing, but not embarassing himself.

-Until last night's episode, Farrell's character has been a train wreck. Can't understand a damn word he's saying. Talking like he has Tim Riggin's d in his mouth.

All that said, I'll keep watching. Not sure why, but I will.

No love, just exceeded my expectations for how he would do in the role.

Trying to remember when they ever played detectives. Matthew never had a role where he was that deep although I recall that one role he had in the Jodie Foster space exploration movie. He was kind of cerebral in that movie. Woody is usually a King Pin type character. Sure he plays the dumber detective in this role, but he had his best acting job ever. It was a serious role, not a comedy.

I had hope for Vaughn in this role but some of his acting is borderline laughable.

He just can't pull this off.

True, but I'm not sure if that's Vaughn's fault or the fault of the horrible lines he's given.

Taylor Kitsch had the best line of the season so far: “These contracts—signatures are all over them!"

I dont blame Vaughn...someone wrote it for him and someone is directing him to squint and whisper, while scowling. PLUS, someone thought he could deliver this roll on a constant basis as a casting director...Everyone knows what Vaughn is...slick talking used car salesman that drops insults

It was a decent episode and set some things up for the 90 minute finale. No matter what happens it will be too late to save this particular
chapter of the True Detective series. I will probably watch it again this week and catch a few things that I believe I missed last night.

Vaughn torturing Osip in a brutal way will go a long way toward saving it for me.

I think the last two episodes have been fantastic. Business has definitely picked up after a very slow start. I'm looking forward to the finale.

Vaughn playing the tough guy had me laughing again....

first he is beating up a guy who is about 120 pounds , Chris Sale thin.

second, tearing off the armrest on the blackjack table...thats tough guy stuff...of which he needed to be alone for!

if this is the best outburst of violence that can be produced...well....someone needs to lose a job.

I look forward to the 90 min war....does Vince go hire Pancho and Co to take care of these guys?

What's so funny? You're still watching too. Let me know what Dan and Terry have to say about last night's episode later on today.

I watch, never denied it. Stated I would watch the whole thing looking for the improvement. Last night was the best episode yet, but nothing that was any better than a typical CSi show.

We all know Danny has never heard of HBO

I laughed when he took his anger out on the poker table. There is not a single redeeming character on this show expect maybe the black lady who was just killed. Every single one of these guys is dirty. I hope no one survives the next episode including Ray's red haired kid.

It's definitely getting better but I'm still a little lost and there are far too many characters for me to follow along with. I had to google who the hell Chessani is. I still think Frank's old lady has something to do with this takeover.
