Is there a stat for botched double play balls that turn into just a force out?

Let's talk about Castro's 10 GW RBI, tied for 10th (along with Rizzo) in MLB in 2015?

Lets talk about how his GIDP is 16%!

David Ross, eh? This was from 2011. Also, thrown**

So your saying you can't judge a player by their first couple years at the position?

Do you really want to use that? As a bad thing? A statistic that means you make good contact? Go pull up that list again of hitters that ground into double plays. Most of them are very good hitters. Putting the ball into play gives you chances to score runs. Striking out does not.

Do we have a percentage on hard hit ground balls?

Yes. It isn't helpful to Starlin Castro.

He leads the league in pitches on the outer half of the strike zone or outside of the zone grounded to the left side that bounce at least twice before being fielded by the P, 3B or SS.

That is a real statistic; I promise.

But you didn't tell me if they were hard hit, and what percentage?

If it bounces twice or more, it isn't hit so hard. Though I did fail to mention his average groundball apex height, which is 8'9".

Castro's Soft/Med/Hard %'s are 23.9%/53.6%/22.4%

You should really find a different job or life, you have WAY to much time on your hands.

Of course I've heard the term before, I'm just not really sure what it means. Are some guys born to play certain positions? Maybe. It's pretty obvious Kyle "Fuckin' Ryan Klesko" Schwarber wasn't born to play any. Regardless, if you're a "natural shortstop", playing second should be a snap.

I'm not going to be unfair to Addison Russell and point out his 2B numbers. Because he is dead last in fielding percentage among qualified second basemen.

#1 in Range and #2 in UZR

Good GOB is this thread a pile of suck.

I wasted a perfectly good shit scrolling through the last couple pages. The worst kind of usage of statistics to bolster weak/ misinformed opinions being passed off as facts. Go drink a beer and watch the game.
