I just called Comcrap to see about lowering my bill. They have a promotion for the exact package I have now, but instead of it costing $224.99, it is $169.99. I keep all of the channels and fast internet that I had, there is no contract, and the price is good for the next two years.

Funny how they were willing to let you keep paying $225 until you called .

Now, if they would just fix my fucking OnDemand, so my kid can watch Color Crew and Harry the Bunny, everything will be swell.

I just ran up to Ace for a new toilet flapper. When I returned, there was an update for my main cable box. OnDemand works again.

I didn't even have to use my AK. I gotta say, today was a good day.

Ok I ordered the modem router combo. I guess the cost of the equipment will pay for itself in less than a year, and then I will get better performance. Thanks for the recommendations. We'll see how it goes.

I'd avoid TP-Link on principle, but that specific router seemed to have good reviews on Amazon so I wish you luck. The SB6121 is a champion though.

Just installed the combination last night. It took a bit for Comcast to recognize the new modem. The download speeds on the directly connected computer are a bit slower (95 MBS or so) than the Comcast modem. BUT, the router is making the signal much more reliable throughout the house. The difference is amazing. I was having problems in the basement and on the deck with signal strength. Plus the internet connection kept getting hung up. Now it is running smoothly.

I have to call Comcast and return their junk equipment.

I just returned some Comcast junk, apparently all you have to do is drop it off at a UPS store and they will send it back at no cost to you.

Ok good to know. I am going to call Comcast to get the rental fee removed from my bill, and then ask them where to return the equipment. The increase in performance is amazing. I am paying for the highest speed package, so I was pissed when the signal was so poor throughout my house.

There should be no difference in internet speeds from modem to modem. The Surfboard you bought can handle the top Comcast home internet speed no problem. Might not have the correct firmware on the new modem yet?

What is the speed of the package you are paying for? I'm a bit surprised that modem can't handle whatever they are throwing out. I noticed the same thing with my new wireless router. My old one was probably 5 years old on a slow connection, but the range of a newer box is so much better.

Make sure and keep that receipt. Lots of stories of Comcast having no record of returned equipment and they keep charging you for it.

I pay for the 100 MBS package. IMU, I will check the firmware. With the Comcast modem it was showing 120 MBS, so this one is much lower speeds on the direct connect computer. But as I said, the distribution to my house was terrible with either the Comcast router or my new Linksys router. Then I bought the combo recommended above, and everything is fine.

I am not going to complain about my 95 MBS speeds. I was only worried about the signal service in the rest of my house. For instance, the Comcast router was giving me 12 MBS in the kitchen right next to the computer room. That is terrible.

SB6121 has a ~150 Mbps downspeed I think.

If you call 800XFINITY, one of the automated options is to send correct firmware to your modem based on your plan. If they put in your MAC address and such in correctly, choosing this option should update (or refresh) your firmware and hopefully you'd get correct speeds.

Also, make sure you test your internet at off-peak hours. It fluctuates a ton from 4PM-11PM on weeknights.

I pay for the 75 Mbps Blast! service and get 90 Mbps consistently. Maybe you should downgrade - sounds like you won't lose any speed.

Also...90 Mbps is way more than any of us need. That's like 11MB/s download speeds.

it's what they call their tv/internet/landline service. equivalent to comcast calling their shit xfinity.

you should easily be able to bundle. that should lower your bill as you could negotiate to get a promo bundle rate.

AT&T definitely has DirecTV bundles. They advertise them right on their site.

ELAINE: (Whispering to Kramer) What is this?! What are you doing here?

KRAMER: We're putting in cable.

ELAINE: The cable? No, no, no. I'm having a party here. You can't do this now!

KRAMER: Oh, we have to do this now.

(Tabachnick and his assistant are leering at the women)

ELAINE: Who's this guy?

KRAMER: Which one?

ELAINE: Both of the them.

KRAMER: Oh, they're Soviet Cable guys.

ELAINE: Okay.. Does Jerry know about this?

KRAMER: Oh yeah.. it's all authorized, yeah.

ELAINE: You can't! You can't do this now!

KRAMER: Elaine, do you know how booked up this guy is? Now, if I send him away now, it's gonna take Jerry months to get him back.. He won't like that.

ELAINE: Alright. Just do it fast and then get out.

KRAMER: (Snaps his fingers) Anatoly! (The Russians get to work on command. To Elaine) Look, it's gonna take a few minutes.. Then, you and the gals can take a

load off and watch something on Lifetime.

I had Uverse for the longest time. Basically as soon as they came into the area we signed up. The only good thing I ever saw was the wireless box deal which isn't the biggest deal breaker. Their costs kept going up and up every six months. I was paying $150 for no premium cable channels and 18 gigs (I think that's what you call the speed range..I don't fucking know). I had a lady come over from Xfinity and she signed me up for a 2 year contract where I get ALL the movie channels, a house phone and 75 gigs (?) of Internet speed compared to 18. Also with xfinity you have the app where you can watch live TV on a tablet or tv which I didn't think was a big deal but then you have kids and it all of sudden is. I now pay $115 a month for everything.

If anyone is interested in switching shoot me a message and I can pass along the ladys information to you and she'll come out to see you if she works in your area.
