Arrieta has been the most consistant pitcher in Chicago the last 18 months. Others have had better outings and can dominate at some time in a game, but Arrietta has fewest bad innings.

This cat is without a doubt the best pitcher in Chicago.

He doesn't need to strike out 15 batters or flaunt a good ol' boy dixie snarl to look tough. He just goes out there and pitches well.

I don't know if he is better than Sale but he is at least in the picture. Lester has had a very good season overall but he looks like a solid #2 with Jason Hammel at #2A.

Arrieta lacks the 15K OMG nights. However, Sale also gets lit up ever 5th outing or so. Arrieta just goes out there and tosses 7IP 2ER every outing.

The stats they just read off are ridiculous. 1.07 ERA in last 14 starts and one earned run allowed in last 7 appearances.

Although being a late bloomer he might be more apt to take a buyout of arb years and some FA years to get himself into his early 30's as opposed to the normal Boras clients (early 20s) who don't want to buyout their late 20's FA years.
