Tough loss. Rizzo and Schwarber bring them back, only for the bullpen to give it right back the next half inning. Haren looks bad. Kind of sad that he was their big deadline deal. Probably not a good thing that 2 of your 5 starters can't break 90 on the gun.

I don't think they can break 85.

I don't think they can break 85.

IMU says this is a great starting pitching rotation though.

Greg Maddux didn't have a 90 mph fastball for half of his career, and did just fine.

You really are going to compare the 2 that are in your current rotation to Greg Maddux, ok.

Well, schmitty wanted to base the overall success on a major league rotation by talking about the velocity of the #4 and #5 starters' fastballs.

Anything seems fair game.

Its a VERY Good Core Four!

Haren started out fine, but as the defense got worse, he seemed to be resigned to a loss and threw batting practice.

This team needs defensive improvement quickly. You won't get it from Starlin Castro but the others are young enough where it's possible.

What? The first batter hit a HR off him. He threw 28 pitches in the first inning. He barely got out of the 1st inning, then gave up another one in the second. Hate to see your definition of "starting out bad."

C.Richards should have gotten the start. Don't change what isn't broken.

Richards looked pretty good in 2 of his 3 starts for the Cubs. Harren looked pretty bland with most of his stuff. Hoping when Montero comes back they can have him catch Harren who he caught for before and Arrieta and those two games at least have Schwarber in left field. It does seem when Schwarber is in that the pitchers struggle and stumble a bit quicker.

I didn't say he was dominant. He was serviceable. He didn't win the game, but damn the defense is awful and they sure didn't help him.

You're a Sox fan, so your expectations are low. The defense was bad but he didn't help himself either.

I agree with juiced, he blows ...Richard is better .

He works slow as shit to boot..n he's a contact pitcher ..he ain't doin his defense any favors.

I'd rather have Wood and Richard or Wada over this has been.
