Bernstein won't be checking text messages today because of all the neanderthals (or whatever word he used).

During transition Rozner said: "We live in a culture in which men are taught that women are playthings."

He says this while sitting next to Bernstein, who has said on two occasions, one on the air and one on Twitter, that he could not focus on what a woman on TV was saying because of her "giant boobies."

Today Dan Bernstein will teach us how to respect women.

Sounds like it. DT's excellent post from that thread also applies to today's show.

One million lols if Dan is attempting to scold anyone about rape culture. Dude is practically the living embodiment of the Male Gaze™.

During transition Rozner said Kane "has no respect for the female body" and "views it as a playground". I just want to emphasize that he said these words while sitting right next to Dan Bernstein.

Rozner's been on this talking point since at least last Thursday. He really has so little to say on any subject that he has no choice but to repeat himself constantly. Somebody take that old dog out behind the shed.

Kind of you to say, TQ.

I heard the opening and quickly bailed; I have a doubt that I will check in at all today.

I have a ton of respect for the female body. That's why I view it as a playground.

Seriously, I don't think it's possible to change the nature that necessarily drives basic sexual desires. I suppose when Barry was a young man he jerked off to thoughts of Sally Ride flying a spacecraft through a glass ceiling.

Not to mention, for years, Bernstein declared "Boobie season". I think he stopped doing it after his troubles. That doesn't mean he stopped believing women are toys to him. Still, Rozner should be told that Bernstein is a part of that "Culture". He actually knows, though. But Rozner wants to be Bernstein's partner once Terry retires. So he can't call him out.

I agree except those Japanese "herbivores" may have found a way. That is one of the oddest developments of our time.

Sure, it's called maturity. But it's pretty silly for a guy like Barry Rozner to act high and mighty as if his own sexual proclivities are based on more noble qualities than those of the guy stroking his cock to a Kennedy Leigh video on XHamster or the guy sitting next to him tweeting about boobies.

I guess I dont take it as high and mighty. Maybe it came off that way, i didnt hear it. But what he's saying is pretty much accurate, right?

Him being part of the problem doesnt change that

None of the guys that you described have a very good view of women then.

I guess I don't see it as a problem unless you believe that an overwhelming number of men believe that the sole value of women is simply for sex. Of course there are knuckleheads that do.

But I don't believe bernstein, for example, believes that, in spite of his admiration for a huge set of jugs. But it did come off that way if you were looking to be offended. My approach is to assume one of two things: 1) He's an asshole who thinks of women as objects and so what, there's not a damn thing I can do about it; or 2) He was just making a dumb joke, he's a hetero man who appreciates a woman our culture has taught him is "hot", and it has nothing to do with his respect for a woman's intellect or other capablities. Personally, I think the answer is two as it probably is for most of us.

I assume you are physically attracted to your husband. You may not have ever dated him if he looked like Clint Howard instead of Andrew McCarthy. I don't think that makes you a bad person or that you only value men for their corporeal forms.

Looks are more important to men in judging women then the reverse. At least that's what it seems like to me.

Let's not pretend it's anywhere close to equal. Men are not objectified on near the level women are.

I don't think Bernstein is good with people or any type of relationship. He doesn't seem to have much interest in women, unfortunately I'd bet a number of men find him to be too dorky to hang out with. He doesn't value anybody that doesn't share the same opinions as him and most of those people are weirdos anyway.

I value men based on how hot they are, how funny they are, if they are a good person, and how good they are to me. My husband is/was different and probably too good for me.

Men sexually objectify women where as women objectify men in other ways. Money, social status, protector, etc.

My friend's girlfriend once got mad at him because she tried to provoke a fight between him and another man and he wasn't having any of it. She called him a pussy.

The kind of pressure women put on men sometimes is one reason it all goes black for many of us in our 50's

I guarentee you, when Barry is at bars, he's commenting on tits and ass of the female patrons to his buddies. It just makes you look like a hero when you speak against it on the air. That's all Barry is doing. Barry is a part of the culture too.

There's a big difference to saying you like someones body and raping them.

Now, what Bernstein did was worse than just talking at a bar. He went public saying he likes the boobs of a fellow media member.

What have we learned from Score hosts over the past few days? That they're the only ones in the world that think rape is bad. Everybody else on twitter thinks it's good according to them.

That was a good time in Electroic music when they moved everything into its own section. Was a lot easier to find what I was listening to at the time. Then again you had to hope that they were correctly labeling electronic music, then you had to go back in the other sections and hope to find it. Like finding Wagon Christ and DJ Shadow in the Electroica section when I think it's just hip-hop.

Anyway, this is my favorite type of radio or general talking points. Old white men telling me about the feels of women; doesn't matter if it's rape or pro-choice. Just as bad as a bunch of white people telling me black lives matter. Thanks for you perspective on black people.

Sure, and money and power are traditionally more important in judging men.

But when some rich old broad has a "boy toy" I don't look down on her. I'm sure she has her reasons for preferring a hard bodied yet callow young man to a distinguished older gentleman.

I enjoy Bernstein telling this woman about "no means no"! Sounds like a good old girl who would have dinner and a beer ready on the table when you get home from work...

We've learned a great deal today. It's been quite the education, and it's only 3:30.

1.) I am told that I should wait for all the facts. But despite a near complete absence of sufficient facts, it's reasonable to already conclude that one will never view Patrick Kane the same way again.
2.) That a major newspaper should not "slut shame". And by slut shame, I mean....seek to tell a story, paint a complete picture, or provide quotes from eyewitnesses who saw a subject hours before an alleged crime took place. That is, unless the printed words meet the legal criteria for being evidentiary. As always, the world revolves around lawyers. All lawyers are really smart people.
3.) Barry Rozner is going to undertake an exhaustive grassroots eradication of John Mayer.
