THEY SELL CONFLICT
(not truth)

Good to see someone put this to words somewhere.

The whole liberal vs conservative, or vice versa, is just tired bullshit that deflects from what is actually happening around us.

Absolutely correct. Lots of media in the business of keeping this narrative going.

That was a great read. I think that you will find similar stats in poor white and brown neighborhoods. It's unfortunate.

Dubois once famously wrote that the problem of the twentieth century will be the problem of the color line.

I think the problem of the twenty- first century will derive from problems attributed to warfare between social classes.

Race will be a factor but problems which emanate from poverty and social inequality will be more divisive

This could have been written for as far back in history you would like to search. There is no solution for everyone's desire for some utopia.

in the immortal word of a ninja turtle: exactamundo.

if you get the masses (once affectionately referred to as "the great unwashed" in the late 1700s/early 1800s) fighting amongst themselves in terms of race, gender, sexuality, religion, coke vs pepsi, jay-z vs nas (or i spose drake vs meek mill now =), etc etc then they're going to be too busy getting caught up in all of that shit to notice the most rich-n-powerfully continually making off with more and more of the pie as time goes on.

but hey if you start talking about "we're all in this together" and rah rah rah eventually you'll be branded some sort of touchy-feelie hippie by people who proudly live in the suburbs or farther out =D

No one realistically expects a social utopia as you call it but there was a pd. in which economic inequality was not as pervasive as it is today. Post WWII was a pd. in which the gap between the rich and poor was not as pronounced as it is today.

Post WWII maybe as people bought houses from the Sears catalog. Look at Greece, Rome, Midevil Europe, Never any sort of BS equality. Even in the communist places like USSR the elite still had more than their comrades.

It's not about creating a society of equals it's about reducing the level of inequality. There is a difference.

Not really. There will always be rich and poor or whatever. Trying to place some arbitrary equality ration is unrealistic. Whether it is this latest women pay inequality, the CEO versus minimum wage person at Walmart or any other example. There is no scientific physical law of equality. It is human nature and will always be.

It's not about attempting to create equality it's about reducing inequality. You are conflating the issue. There will be conflict if the issue of income inequality is continuously ignored. Wealth concentration in fewer and fewer hands is going to lead to conflict. Its particularly egregious when you consider the role that govt plays in all of this.

Right now, 95% of the voting public fail to accept the true root cause of the inequality, which starts and ends with the 2-party system that's in place.

I don't know if that's necessarily the root cause though I will admit that aside from the rhetoric, there really isn't much difference with respect to the way both parties govern.

Don't know necessarily about that. We definitely don't need ex drug addict/alcoholics that have been failures at just about every thing that they have ever ran.

How is narrowing CEO to worker pay ratio unrealistic?

And your argument is essentially, there will always be some inequality, so fuck it let it run wild?

Bad things will always happen so let's just ignore bad things when they happen.
