I do repeatedly via text. No response. I did get a response a few weeks ago with Bernstein touting the article saying that the US would be better if the South didn't exist. Some clap trap about obesity, underemployment, illiteracy, etc.

I responded by outlining the author of the article (FAR lefty), the source of the article (FAR lefty site) and the fact that as much as he wants to create the narrative of 'racist southern white trash', many of the contributors of said statistics in the south are people of color. HIs response was to just text me back the link to the article.

It is the only case that I know of where we have taken a polling statistic as gospel. It's a number based on fucking polling. And one of the questions, suggesting sexual assault, was being kissed when you didn't want to be. That of course gave rise to awesome memes.

The only studies done on the matter, that probably can actually be done on the matter, show that the 65% stat is almost certainly grossly exaggerated and of course is, totally unquantifiable through scientific standards.

The military study, completed by a female officer, actually stated that false allegation was the actual epidemic and yet somehow the media only ran with the allegation stat. The military is also a "rape culture" despite people like myself never having seen a single shred of that after over a decade of service. I have, though, seen two guys have their lives and careers upended after false allegations. One of which was dismissed the same week because they were on different continents at the time of the supposed assault. She had just picked a date and assumed he was in country.

She would have been a victim, had she been a victim. He is still a victim. That allegation remains in his jacket.
