Watching a country in that part of the world implode left us with Afghanistan and now Syria, how's that working out for us all?

We gave plenty of help to Afghanistan in the 80's. More specifically, to Osama Bin Laden and his merry band of mercenaries.

Who appointed us the arbiter of other countries?

These countries would have ended up in similar states of disrepair without our help. And would have been forced to deal with the issues themselves, or come to us looking for help. Rather than us forcing our "help" upon them.

If we are imposing sanctions, then we are by definition, appointing ourselves as arbiters of that part of the world.

We didn't do that unilaterally.

We need to keep these guys close , make the deal. I don't give a fuck if Israel just pampered these pussy politicians for a week in a 5 star hotel n day spa .

Its long overdue to cut the umbilical cord on Israel . They are capable of lookin after themselves.

Bin Laden in Afghanistan? Overblown, more of a financier and tough talking guy looking for photo ops to build his brand. He wasnt even really aby sort of "leader," either. He really put no skin of his own on the table.

Anyways, the blowback in that country was mainly caused, in the end, by the giant vacuum created by US/Soviet power leaving. This lead to the Taliban,(that we know today), that was created by the ISI to gain power.

Come on Seacrest you know those sanctions were largely U.S. driven.

Today's sanctions are largely driven by a UN resolution that came about after Iran starting enriching uranium.

Furthermore, it is far different to impose sanctions than it is to go into a country and force a regime change.

I'm waiting for the peace loving citizens of Iran to elect a different type of government. One that recognizes things like the Holocaust and the right for Israel to exist.

You have a great grasp of the situation.

The issue really isnt Israels ABILITY to defend themselves.

What do you think would happen if we cut the ties with Israel...and said...so as you wish?

They would not initiate any attacks unless prompted and the first sign of any attack, full scale war.

I am not against trying to find common ground with Iran, but issues such as Obamas legacy shouldnt be a driving force in this so called "deal" in which they gave up nothing and we approved eveything....meanwhile 4 American families see these news reports everyday of Kerry treating Iran like our new buddy.

312, how would you feel about all this if any relative of yours was locked up and not even a topic of discussion?
