Didn't the Orioles have a wire-to-wire year in the '90s? 1997, maybe?

I think the last time the Orioles won a World Series was when they beat the Sox in '83.

OK. Let's check back on this one. JORR has Bryant equaling Nick Swisher. Got it!

Absurd yes , Bryant is a rookie with more stolen bags in 3 months than Nick Swisher has in his career.

When you're leaning on stolen bases, I'm going to assume that you have no argument with me pointing out the similarities between the two players at the plate.

Please provide a list of all the teams in MLB that will beat the Cubs over a 7 game series.

Brett Jackson and Mike Trout are more similar than Kris Bryant and Nick Swisher.

Troy Glaus batted .240 with 29 homers and 79 RBI his first full season

If you are going to continue being clear eyed at least get the stat right..... the Cubs are hitting .231 at Wrigley

I guess Cubs fans will just have to suffer at 63-48 and as YOU have taught us all the only stat that matters is the W.

Is that your rebuttal? Let's throw a party! The fact is their pitch-taking philosophy is an absolute fucking disaster. They've struck out over 1000 times already. You can look that number up if you want. Anyway you slice it, the Cubs are a bad offensive team.

If you subscribe to the randomness of the playoffs theory, anyone can beat the Cubs and the Cubs can beat anyone.

I don't think their offense will translate to playoff baseball very well but who knows?

He will be around those numbers at the end of the year give some homers take some RBI's

I told you to chill out on the projections. Its like you guys have never seen a young player progress before.

The Mike Trouts are few and far between

I dont think the playoffs are random. I actually think it should be 7 games straight. No breaks. So, you cant use a starter 3 times.

Being able to throw Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling 3 times made BB a great manager.

But wasn't Bryant sold as Mike Trout by the vast majority of the Cubbies mass?

Not at all.

At best, at a point and time in this season, I stated I wanted Rizzo on this team instead of Trout....at that time. Cant quantify Rizzos leadership on this team, but thats what I thought for this young Cubs team.

Trouts career numbers might be the best ever in the history of baseball when all is said and done. There is nobody i would say will be a better player in this generation.

According to the Sox fans on this site? Yes.

If you actually go back and look, you'll see myself and others consistently making the Glaus comparison

RPB, I don't think all of the 2nd part is true. I just went back and did a little research and my goodness.

Cardinals - favored against every team
Royals - would certainly be favored but their starting pitching is suspect
Blue Jays - offense is scary after getting Tulo so likely favored
Pirates - very even match up for the Cubs but I'd like the Cubs chances
Yankees......what? Hell no.

Similarities?

Like what ? Obp ..yeah

Kris is a rookie , this .255 stuff only gets better ... He's fast n likeable , Nick is slow n unlikable ... Kris can play 3rd or First and all outfielder positions . Nick was a corner outfielder with zero range .

So BRick has the cubs as the 6th best team in baseball.

Fair enough.
