I thought I was watching another late lead get blown before that DP.

But only Cubs can be expected to improve.

Nonsense. I expect improvement from Rodon and Garcia.

Garcia hasnt been what I thought he'd be by now. Rodon seems well on his way.

Btw, Mike...

Bryant has an .802 OPS, Garcia is .695

I don't know what to expect from Garcia. He seems to lack power for a man of his size. I don't know exactly how he's going to find that. I know it's an old baseball saw that players mature into power hitters, but you never really see that.

It's a little different for pitchers. I think it's reasonable to expect a young pitcher to improve. There's a lot to pitching a baseball game and experience counts in that regard much more than it does for a hitter who just has to see the ball and hit it. As far as raw ability is concerned, Rodon will never be better than he is right now.

I think Avi can be a 20 HR hitter but not much more. That is acceptable while he is inexpensive.

You can see the quality in Rodon. He passes the eye test. He has plenty to correct and there are guys who never correct the kind of flaws he has but its nice to have a young guy who, if he develops, the sky is the limit

What were they going to get for him? Other teams saw he was bad.

You probably could have gone 3-6-3 and ended the damn game. The guy wasn't exactly busting it down to first.

So they ended up winning anyway. Yea. I had enough after the 11th. This sweep should give them a good feeling going into the weekend series.

The BP Cup should be hoisted tomorrow night, and I expect the Sox to take 2 of 3. The Cubs have been playing quite well, but they are long overdue for a poor series. Its also about time they go up against some pretty good pitchers. At least Schwarber will have a spot in the lineup as the DH this weekend.

5-7 in the middle of this brutal 19 game stretch. Acceptable but as I suspected, it left them out of contention

I'm going to be disappointed if the turd o meter don't explode..Don't let that bum see the 4th inning.

Cubs take 2 of 3 .
