Yes, good dolphin is a resource when projecting playoff success.

I don't think they will make much noise in the playoffs but I'd sure love to see them there

as you have written many times in the last few weeks, the Royals didn't look like contenders going into those playoffs. Thanks for joining me.

So why is the group projecting, on August 13th, who the Cubs have a chance with in a seven game series in October?

This Cubs team is good enough to win the World Series and bad enough to get swept in the first round, if they get past the WC game.

Someone asks a question and I sometimes answer.

You described the playoff randomness theory.

So they are already in the playoffs?

Yeah, Hawg...the Cubs currently have the third highest postseason probability at 87%. This isn't like we're still in May and 3 games over .500.

This probably isn't going to be the best time to be a Brewers fan on a Chicago sports message board.

Yeah, good thing teams have never collapsed coming down the stretch.

Yeah, good thing teams have never collapsed coming down the stretch.

Probability factors in the possibility of a collapse. That is the 13%.

Though with your aversion to statistics I could understand percentages being a bit complicated.

Great thing for the Cubbies that collapses don't happen, congrats.

That's a projection, not a statistic.

I guess it is a statistic of the thousands of virtual games they run but I don't think it is a true stat.

I did not call it a statistic.

Hawg isn't a numbers guy. He believes statistics...metrics...data analysis...projections have no place.

Sometimes they collapse and STILL make the post season

Of course the Cubs are not a lock. They're playing well.

They are playing very well, just saying things can happen. Yes, I have been thru 2 huge collapses with the Brewers, the one that you mentioned that turned out ok and last year, ugh.

Awesome, start printing the tickets.

20+ teams should have already printed their playoff tickets. If they haven't they are bad at business.
