I liked Jones better, he could get a first down on 4th and 1 or 3rd n 2 . He Ran harder . Better blocker ... I don't need my back to catch 6 yard dump off passes in the flat on 3rd n forever.. All that does is pad his n Cutlers stats .

There is no way to justify this stance.

People discount Forte because they concentrate on running back = rushing yards. The NFL has changed. Total offensive yards are what matter.

I'm sorry but you cannot put Forte over Sayers. Can't.

I'll agree that Forte is very underrated.

No issue with Sayers. I gave Forte the nod because of longevity.

Nagurski was a charter member of the HOF. Most dominant RB of his day.

Yes , longevity ...I knew it . I put Forte n Noah as the two most over rated local athletes.

You and NAs are like many Bears fans Our offense has sucked for 16 years or so...Just cause Forte is a good back..doesn't make him great .

He has been one of the most consistent, strongest, non assholey players for 7 years, I'd even say over the last 20. He has been behind shit lines, with shit coaches, on shit offenses, and has remained productive and never been a distraction, yet some will still say he is not great. He is a very solid all around player. Is he elite or amazing like some other running backs, maybe not, no? Is he great? yes! And he should be more appreciated, he's one of my favorites.

Forte was elite for plenty of seasons.

Do you get bonus points for yards earned by handoff rather than from a short pass?

I think you are crazy to see it like that. Hasn't he accounted for close to 40% of Bears offense for most of his time here?

Productive and durable sure are bad qualities for a running back. Not to mention he never beat his kids with a switch or punched his wife in an elevator.*

*-that we know of.

Most fans are wrong in this case at least. When they agree with me they are probably right.

He is consistently ranked in the top 3 of RB when it comes to yards from scrimmage every year. Even though he isn't an explosive RB his rushing numbers are usually really good despite running behind poor offensive lines and in bad offenses. His first 4 years in the league he faced 9 guys in the box regularly and was still successful.

I know there is not a stat for useless yards but he would lead the league. Bad offenses ? Absolutely.. Which Spaulding pointed out he's 40% of . I think Bears fans just reach for something positive to hold onto...he's a good back, nobody said he sucks...he's not great ..he's a poor mans Jamal Charles.

In that case, then Gayle Sayers is worse than Matt Forte.

Dick Butkus wasn't great either.

although I must admit I did not see a number of these players

No shame in being fifth best in Bear RB history. That group is stacked.

Where does the "Galloping Ghost" rank on that list?
